Somewhere Over the Rainbow...

I won't break into song and dance today. I will spare you that particular pain! But I do have a question for you....do you think about color much? When you are picking your supplies to scrap, do you specifically look at color? What I mean is, do you take your photos with you to the store and try to match the colors? Or are you more drawn to certain products and brands and then find the pictures to go with them? In other words; which comes first the 'chicken' or the 'egg'; the picture or the product?

Personally I do not scrapbook in any particular order. Rather I have my photos printed and in storage binders. I follow a modified version of Stacy Julian's Photo Freedom. I have a large stash that needs to be used and I either look at some product that is particularly inspiring to me and then find photos for it - or I will look through my binders and see photos that inspire me and then go find the products to match. SO I guess I am a little of both.

But all of this leads me to this question....what colors inspire you RIGHT NOW. What colors do you gush over? What colors can you not live without. Do you enjoy scrapping in a monochromatic color scheme or are you an analogous scrapper. Don't know what I am talking about - check out this great tutorial.

I really am very curious about what colors seem to be calling to you right now. Leave me some blog love aka: comments and I will pick a random winner for some product love aka: free stuff!

Have a terrific Monday!

I have my "go to" colors - cranberry, dk. brown, navy. But there are times when I see a punch of orange or pink and just can't resist. I almost always pull product that I love and make my photos fit it. I turn my photos b/w if need be! Sometimes I do have a photo that is inspiring and then I find product to "go with" the photo. I do NOT match the colors in my photo to the color of paper. More I match the mood or tone of the photos or the event. That's why I sometimes use b/w photos - to make sure they don't clash!

I'm seriously drawn to Tiffany blue right now. I pair it with brown. And my all time favorite go to color is pink. I have 3 girls and there's never enough pink on my layouts. I think I tend to pick the photos first when I do a LO. Then I pick the colors but I'm not a stickler for it matching. I just go with a fave paper or a cool embellishment. No real plan!

OMGosh, you would think this is an easy question but I am having a tough time with it. I always have white and black around, but that is mostly for my cardstock use. I would think lately I have been going to oranges and reds, some brown. But, I have had Halloween on the brain lately so that is probably why.

I did just pulled out a bunch of pinks, with black, to go with the new "Stick Ons" I just got in the mail today. Can't wait to get started with those.

I love neutrals...and distressed colors.

My go to colors are ice blue and dark brown. I also like to add in some black. I tipically do not use alot of bright colors like orange or red unless it is Christmas or Halloween.

Hi - great question! I use mostly the same colors over and over... but I just purchased some new cardstock that is gorgeous - and it is in a lovely light blue and rather light and bright green. I'm sooo excited to use them! Wish me luck!!

When I shop for paper I just buy what I think will work or what I like. Then I take it home and match my photos to them. I have all boys so I usually go with blues, greens, and browns.
