Hi!! My name is Valerie I have been scrapbooking since 1994, and it has been fascinating to see how scrapbooking has evolved over the last 15 years! I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 6 years and we have 4 year old twin boys. I was a preschool teacher, but became a SAHM after the boys were born. (No I don't know how I do it ALL day long with twin boys! And you will soon learn one is MUCH more work than the other! LOL!!) We live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, and our neighborhood is AWESOME-our neighbors on both sides have boys the same age as mine as well as 3 other houses right by us. So there are lots of playmates for the boys all the time. The boys will be starting preschool this fall and they are very excited and I am very sad!

I am SO excited to work with all these talented ladies on MOSD and can't wait to create with the awesome products! Here is one of my favorite projects I recently made for a kit club I am a design team member of. I had fun looking for items to make to popsicle come to life, and with the help of balsa wood, sparkle paint and Diamond Glaze I was able to make it happen!

I can't wait to share more of my creations and ideas with you!
Valerie

Hello from New York

Hello, my name is Dolores Cancel, and I live in one of NYC’s boroughs, the Bronx home of the Yankees. I have been married to my wonderful husband Felix for 20 years. We have 4 amazing children, ranging in ages 23 – 3 yrs old who are the inspirations for my creativity.
I started scrapbooking 3 years ago as something to do with my two oldest daughters it was going to be our mommy and me time, well little did I know that I would really find my creativity through this incredible hobby. My daughters gave up after about 6 mos. and occasionally scrap, but well and addicted. Scrapbooking has literally become part of my life, it is my me time. I have met so many wonderful ladies through scrapbooking, and I now have friends that share my passion.
I am so excited to be designing for MOSD along with some fabulous Design Team members. I can't wait to start creating and be able to show my style which at the moment is ever changing, it depends on what photos I’m scrapping. For me journaling (hidden or open) is important because even though the cliché is a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes there’s just so much more than just the picture. There are the feelings and emotions of that particular picture on that day.

Here are some of my favorite projects:

Hi from Carolyn

Hello everyone, My name is Carolyn Lontin and I am super excited to be part of the MOSD Design Team!

A bit about me:
I have been married to Rick since January 1997; we have one son, Seth (2001) and two crazy dogs!

We live in gorgeous Colorado, in a suburb just south of Denver. We are less than 20 minute drive to the mountains and love to go there often!

I began scrapping in October 2001 to preserve my son's childhood memories and it quickly became an obsession! I love capturing my family's "real" moments both in my photos and in my journaling on my layouts and projects. I have found the creative outlet of scrapping to be incredibly relaxing and quite addictive, which is shocking to the previously dominate non-artistic side of me! Over the past few years, I have had the honor of having my work published along some awesomely talented scrappers in major publications!

Since April 1994, I have been a Human Resource Director for a manufacturing company and these days thankful I am still there.

I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, photography, running, cheering on my son’s sports teams, mini-adventures exploring in the mountains, playing with our dogs, and reading.

Here are a few of my recent favorite projects:

Thanks for stoppin' by & hope your Wednesday is fabulous!

Hello from Naureen!

Hello Everyone! My name is Naureen and I am thrilled to be part of the MOD Squad! Thanks to all of you for a warm welcome to the design team.

I live in Sunny Florida with my husband and 5 year old son. When I am not scrapping, I spend my days as an third grade teacher. I come from a family of crafters and I have been scrapping off and on for many years. I have been addicted to this hobby for the last 7 years and I enjoy sharing my creations with my friends and family.

I enjoy using pattern paper in fun bright colors. Some of my favorite techniques are tearing, inking, and painting. I love using border punches, ribbon and buttons. Below you will see some of my technique using the MODS 2x2 Petite Album.

It's Just Gloria!

Hello everyone! For those of you who have followed this blog for a while, you already know me. But for the newbies...I'll do a little into! I'm Gloria and I have a bit of a paper craft addiction... And I am THRILLED to be asked to remain on the MOD Squad for another term!

I live in southern California with my dh of almost 22 years and our three kids. Nathan (17.5yo and ready for college in the fall), Laura (13.5 and a rising 9th grader), and Jonah (almost 9 and ready for 4th grade). I homeschool the kids - well Nathan is graduated now, but the other two - and that keeps me very busy! I am also on a few other design teams, so that eats up some more of my time, plus we are very active in our church, and I read like there is no tomorrow. If I did not need sleep, I'd be much better off!

I've been a paper crafter I'd say all of my life, but I found rubber stamping in 1990 and scrapbooking (the modern way) in 1996. I love to create and try new things and buy stuff! I love to think outside the box, but I also love tried and true techniques and "old school" things. I am a huge fan of vintage items and collage art.

I started on the MOD Squad in January of 2008, so have been on the DT for 18 months. I have loved every second of it. Honest! Ok, there was that one day.... hee hee. I thought I'd show you a few of my all time favorite MOSD projects. Now keep in mind, I've made a ton of MOSD projects in the past year and a half, and I had a hard time just picking a few! But here are some of my favs!

This first project is a 6x6 mini album with clear covers and shaped inside pages. I did a love theme, and there are STILL no photos in it! See, I love to create stuff, but don't care much for fussing with photos. I am not sure I can say I am a scrapbooker...

This next project is one of the Long Haul albums (great size, BTW) and was one of my early projects. But I still LOVE it. And it was pub'd in the Scrapbooking.com e-zine.

This next one I am very proud of. This is just the covers from the Show Off Album (I think) and I made it to hold my PageMaps cards. Becky Fleck even pub'd it in her newsletter!

Here is a WordBook. This is one of the stacked ones. I used all Basic Grey papers. I really adore this one!

Here is a 12x12 clear page. Ali sent us some clear sheets for something...and I decided to try a clear page. I think it worked out ok!

Here is a clear 6x6 page. I was supposed to use them as mini album covers, but sometimes...I just didn't. I made this as a home decor item for Valentine's Day this year. I actually made two, but this was my fav.

The next mini is my all time favorite project. I made this as a gratitude journal of sorts. If you want to see the "guts" you can do a search for it on the blog. I used lots of varied page sizes, plus tags, and clear items. It's stuffed full of goodness!

Here is the top view.
And the back.

And lastly, this is a banner I made for the winter CHA - out of the shaped pages. I have some great close-ups here on this blog. This was tons of fun to make!

Ok, that's it. Hope you come back to visit often! The new DT is an amazingly creative group of ladies and I know they'll blow your socks off!

Happy Christmas In July from Erica!

Hi! I'm Erica and I'm ecstatic to be a part of the MOD Squad! First, a little bit about me: I've been crafting since I was a kid, and starting scrapbooking about 10 years ago. My style has really evolved since then, and I love using vintage images, ephemera, ribbons, lace, buttons, and whatever bits and bobs I can get my hands on. I like a "layered" look in my projects. I live in the heat of Texas with my husband and our two adorable kitties. We love to travel and collect antiques. I work full-time and try to craft full-time, which keeps me busy!

I usually scrap 12x12 layouts, but I've been doing more altered projects and cards lately. They help keep me creative and thinking of what to do next!

Since I'm celebrating Christmas in July today, here are a couple of "mini" projects for Christmas. First is a mini matchbook album I created using the index prints of a trip to New York City at Christmas. I covered the box with festive paper and embellishments, then created a fan-fold paper strip and adhered the little photos.

Next are a few Holiday gift tags that I created in non-traditional colors. These are very quick and easy to make. I used plain shipping tags that I soaked in coffee to "age" and pre-made patterened paper tags. Then I layered on patterned paper, a vintage image, ribbons, lace, sequins, glitter, whatever added to the festive feel.

What's Christmas without a few gifts? Head over to my blog http://www.zunkychic.com/ for a give-away to celebrate Christmas in July!

Hello From Tina

Hi everyone! I first want to say I am so happy to join this team and look forward to the upcoming months! We have so many talented women!!! I started scrapping in Sept. 08 and what a ride it's been. I am a graphic artist/designer and since everything is now done on the computer I missed using my hands. Scrapbooking brought me back to that! :D I am a 12 x 12 scrapper but I would love to expand that. Here are some of my recent work. I can't wait to dip my hand into the MOSD products!!!

A Friendly "HELLO" from the Frugal Scrapper:)

Well HELLO out there:)

I just have to say I am soooooo excited to be among all of these amazing crafters as I join the MOD Squad! You are all AMAZING!!!
Since I am HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE, I've decided to share a mini ablum I made recently for a scrapbook club I lead at a LSS. This book will introduce a bit of my "style" so I hope you enjoy it:)
My name is Lori McCausland and I am the Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:) I have been re-purposing things since oh....I don't know when, lol...I know I've been paper crafting since I was about 10 or so...and I'll just say that was a REALLY long time ago...
One of my favorite things to do as I craft is to use ordinary "trash" in my projects...now you won't find any banana peels in my projects (but I'm willing to take suggestions on how to use them if you have ideas...), I have been known to use lots of other items that would normally land in a land fill somewhere...Frugal Scrapper is my name....goin' green is my game.

Enjoy:)

Have a "Scrappingly Good Day"!!!

Lori McCausland, Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire AND proud member of the MOD SQUAD
