I don't have any Stick On's to show you!!!

I love being the "Odd Ball"--- We'll finish off what turned into Stick - On week with something different--- Expressions Build A Book Letters...

Particularly a little tip on cutting out the letter middles.

Jan of Remember When Creations contacted me just after the New Year asking a GREAT question:

"What is your preferred or recommended way of trimming the insides of letters? "

Now - before you go all silly on me - yes, Jan knows how to weild a mighty x acto knife - she was wondering about DIFFERENT techniques I use when teaching and demo-ing with these awesome word books.

So here I have the letter D - I used my "special mix" of Tacky glue and water to adhere the paper to the front side of the D - then I flipped it over so I could work from behind.. The following picture tutorial should say it all!

So if you don't want to trim out the paper with an x acto- just fold over the edges for a clean gift wrapped finish, - GRIN!

Build a Book...on your wall

The best part of MOSD Expressions Build a Books is that they are so versatile. Create virtually any word you want...and the best part...you can decide if you want to turn it into a book or if you have other creative ideas for it!! I decided to give my father in law a special present...a framed build a book with a picture of him with his grandchildren. It was so easy!! Just cut the paper to size and add a little Mod Podge! The Mod Podge will glue the book together and you can add your photos on top of the book rather than inside. I then found this frame at Target that acts as a shadow box and I was done!!

MOSD in Austraillia!

G'day mates! I got a great email the other day by one of our MOSD retailers in Austraillia. Scrappin Away is a fabulous Retreat House is located in Albury, NSW. A short trip from either Melbourne, Canberra or Sydney and easily reached by car, train or plane from most locations on the east coast. Ruth is just the sweetest hostess and she has a lot of scrappy talent as well. Check out this awesome Expressions Build A Book she made as a gift:

I love how Ruth covered each letter in black first and then used patterned paper on top to give each letter dimension! If you have a project you've completed with MOSD products and you'd like to be featured on our blog - send me some images! christy @ mosdinc.com - Have a great weekend !

Expressions Build a Book

We've all seen chipboard word minis made by other manufacturers. But all they offer are generic words, like Love, or Family. Not that they aren't nice words, but what if you could do MORE? MOSD has one of the coolest concepts out there - the Expressions Build a Book. You decide what word you want to use and you've got it!

I decided to create a mini that showcases my eldest son's personality at age 11. So guess what? I created a "COLIN" album.

Not only can you customize your album's word, but you can decorate each chipboard page to suit your theme.

I want to add a bit of journaling here and there, but I am thrilled with how it turned out. I think the colorful Prima papers and embellies really matched my son's exuberant personality. I plan on making one for each one of my kids.

So as you can see, the possibilities are endless. What word will you choose?

Word Album Tip

Today I thought I would share with you a neat little trick that I discovered when working with the word albums. Sometimes when you are using a word that has six to seven letters the letters can get a little pushed together once you cut the first few, plus I sometimes goof up my cuts! To make my last couple of letters a little longer so that I would have more of a staggering effect & to give me a little more room I adhered the leftover chipboard that I cut from the first letters to the last letters. Just overlap the chipboard a little and then adhere. Once you cover them with patterned paper you will never be able to tell! Just a little trick I thought I would share!

Monday Musing - Wordbook Video Tutorial

Hey Everyone,

I am going to try something new today. I have created a video tutorial for lining up, and cutting wordbooks using out Expressions Build A Book (TM) system. Now before you send me a million e-mails here are my pre-canned excuses..

1 - I am NOT a videographer

2 - This is the first time I have EVER made and/or published a video to the web

3 - I have never been accused of being 'brief' (the video is 12 minutes and 3 seconds long)

4 - yes I talk with my hands A LOT - my mom use to say if I had to sit on my handles I would be able to complete a sentence

5 - I saved it in a cable/DSL Quicktime format - if you have a slower connection and want to watch the video...email me and I will send it to you.

6 - my kids were in the room with me (there is one spot you will see a little hand sneak in on the right side of the screen) all in all for their ages I think they did and AWESOME job being quiet - but you might hear some russling and a sneeze - LOL

7 - YES YES YES - the A, R, etc do have middles that 'pop' out - I simply forgot to take them out and in the interest of getting this on the web I didn't want to take the time to re-shoot

So here you have it - my first ever video tutorial - if this goes well we will post more on using some of our other products. This one is in response to specific questions from some of our consumers and retailers!

ENJOY!
