Oh My! Word Books!

You have seen the MOSD Wordbooks on the Blog quite a bit. Well, here is one from the Build-a-Book program. Since you can chose your own letters, you can spell anything you want! So I spelled out "DINOSAURS" to make this super cute mini album.

I used the adorable Basic Grey Archaic paper, stickers, and chipboard elements for this project. Plus some Tim Holtz "bits and pieces" for that "boy grunge" look. I also printed out the words to Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs by Susan Boyanton to use as "journaling." I bound the book with the Bind-it-All machine.

Thanks for looking!

More Halloween Stickons!

I know there have been several post featuring the Halloween stickons by Midnight Oil, but I just had to share this layout I just finished of my daughter. I took this photo of her while she was trick or treating. I used the twirly stickons and the stickon spider & they worked great together! Now, I just need to finish the rest of my Halloween designs.

Autumn Stackers

If you're like me, you have probably snapped more than your share of foliage shots this fall. New England is just so beautiful this time of year.
Today, I wanted to show you how you could use the Autumn Stackers collection for some of those photos:

I started with the the Autumn Edger. It comes as a pre cut paper piecing and a sentiment printed on a transparency. I trimmed along the words, then painted the back side with blue acrylic paint. While it was drying, I got busy with some Glimmer Mists and distress inks.

I took the leaves and gave them all a spritz with Walnut Gold and Sunflower yellow glimmer mists. The burgundy leaves were crumpled and then smoothed out. I inked the creases with distress inks. I used some brown chalk ink along various edges. Since no two leaves are quite alike, I wanted to acheive some variations in color.

Once all my leaves were dry, I assembled the paper piecing, using pop dots to adhere some leaves for added dimension. I layed the sentiment on top, and stapled at either edge to hold in place.

For the title, I used an Autumn Collection Topper:

Since my page didn't show any leaves actually falling, I trimmed the transparency to read "Fall." I liberally sprayed some Walnut Gold Glimmer mist to the word LEAVES and love the result! :

The Stackers and Edgers are easily altered to suit your tastes and match your layouts. Hope this inspires you to get busy with your fall photos!

A little more Halloween Fun!

For those of you who know me you know that Halloween is one of my all time favorite holidays :) I'm beyond in love with the StickOn's Halloween set! Here is a layout I created using the bat StickOns! The really cool thing is the size of the StickOn allows for further embellishing--I added orange rhinestone eyes for a little extra pizazz!
The story behind the layout--I created this wreath using the Expressions Word Book Letters for BOO--then I attached them to this super spooky halloween wreath! The wreath itself was featured in one of the Martha Stewart Halloween Workshop newsletters! So I had to do a layout using the newsletter as my photo.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow...

I won't break into song and dance today. I will spare you that particular pain! But I do have a question for you....do you think about color much? When you are picking your supplies to scrap, do you specifically look at color? What I mean is, do you take your photos with you to the store and try to match the colors? Or are you more drawn to certain products and brands and then find the pictures to go with them? In other words; which comes first the 'chicken' or the 'egg'; the picture or the product?

Personally I do not scrapbook in any particular order. Rather I have my photos printed and in storage binders. I follow a modified version of Stacy Julian's Photo Freedom. I have a large stash that needs to be used and I either look at some product that is particularly inspiring to me and then find photos for it - or I will look through my binders and see photos that inspire me and then go find the products to match. SO I guess I am a little of both.

But all of this leads me to this question....what colors inspire you RIGHT NOW. What colors do you gush over? What colors can you not live without. Do you enjoy scrapping in a monochromatic color scheme or are you an analogous scrapper. Don't know what I am talking about - check out this great tutorial.

I really am very curious about what colors seem to be calling to you right now. Leave me some blog love aka: comments and I will pick a random winner for some product love aka: free stuff!

Have a terrific Monday!

Toot...toot...beep...beep

Intracacies are here and they are AWESOME!! Every summer our family makes a point to go to the local drive in. I feel very fortunate that we still have two as they are slowly becoming a thing of the past. For that reason, I felt it was extremely important to document our trips there every summer. This is a memory that I share with my kids, but alas, I have no pictures of my trips from the 70's.

It just so happens that we went to see the movie, "Cars". So what better product to use for a DRIVE IN, CARS layout??? Cars intracacies!

So here's the question...if you were to design an intracacy...what design would YOU use?? Answer in the comments section here and if I get at least 25 posts, I will send out a prize!!

Ok - Halloween's over - Let's move on to Thanksgiving!

Do you scrap Thanksgiving festivities??? I have to admit I don't have pictures for every Thanksgiving... but I do have some! And now thanks to the extremely talented designers at MOSD I have simply incredible things to make my Thanksgiving pages contest winners! We have just added a new Thanksgiving Stacker Collection... Thanksgiving Stick Ons... and a Thanksgiving Intricacy. Now isn't THAT something to be thankful for? I sure think so!
So I bet you want to SEE these outstanding products.... but alas I can't show you... not quite yet. The Thanksgiving Collection is a little part of our CHA Winter 2009 releases... along with Cheer, Pirate, Christmas Spiritual, Christmas Cute (a new and improved version of our current Christmas Traditional Collection) and the most EXCITING CHA release in the history of MOSD... but I'm really not even going to hint at what that is
- but you MOSD fans will LOVE IT!
