Fun Times

I have found that scrapbookers are silly- it's like a requirement.... While at CHA this past January I had the pleasure of encountering the silly ladies from Chino Scrapbook Company . From Left to right we have: Diana, Debbie and Jen --- all with MOSD tatoos on their faces trying to win one of our AWESOME Build a Book Kits!

Have you seen the NEW Build a Book - Perfectly shaped set yet??? NOOOO - yowza - stay tuned this week as I add the shapes to the MOSD website and then you can go to YOUR local ( and I bet silly) store and ask them to bring in the kits!

In the meantime- I need to give the gals over at the Chino Scrapbook Company a call and see when I can come by and teach a class or help them with a Mak and Take---

What a Show Off!

In my effort to "use up my stash," I went digging in a bin of supplies that I call my "Hey, I could make something out of this!" bin. In the bin I found a journal kit (by Colorbok) that had the lofty price tag of 99 cents on it. It was given to me a year or so ago by a scrappy friend. The journal was roughly 5x8 inches in size, with acetate covers, and came with some ribbon and rings, and a few odds and ends.

I decided to use the clear covers from a MOSD Show Off Album (4x6 inches) to make this mini album. I cut the acetate covers to match the size of the Show Off album. (The clear acrylic Show Off album makes for a more substantial cover than the thin acetate.) I added the large flower and button, and some extra ribbon. And now I have this little book to keep by my computer in which to jot down notes and ideas. I can easily add more pages and more tabs as it fills up! I'd have to guess that this project cost well under $5 to put together!

Make Your Own Embellishments

I took these great pictures of my dh and son while we were at the Chicago Field Museum, but couldn't find any dinosaur embellies that weren't too kiddish. As soon as I saw the dinosaur intricacy from MOSD, I knew it would be perfect! I just cut out a few of the dinosaurs and inked them for a more distressed look, and the perfect embellishments were born! So, next time you look at the intricacies remember that you can also take them apart and make loads of embellies for your pages, cards, and mini-albums!

I'm flipping out!

Well, not really. But I am crazy about one of our newest Clearly Designed albums. It's called a Flipped Out album. This is an all acrylic album that is a gatefold style, with pages that overlap each other when closed. Here's what I did with mine:












Did you know you can color your acrylic pages with Staz On ink?
I used blue here, applied by stamping it on with a crumpled up piece of saran wrap. It added an intersting pattern to the pages.
I loved how the white dewdrop pattern Cover All looks against the blue acrylic, and couldn't resist embellishing it with a few buttons.
There are some other Stick Ons used throughout the album too.
The final fun detail I loved using were our clear Spiral Rings to bind the album.

Caught in a spiral

Have you heard about MOSD Spiral Rings? One of our new releases for CHA, these created quite a buzz! What are Spiral Rings you might ask? Well, they are my favorite new way to bind my mini albums.

Here's what make Spiral Rings different... they don't snap close. You slide your pages on to them like a key onto a keychain. Easy peasy! They are available in six different colors - blue, pink, black, brown, red, and my favorite - clear! Now it's a no brainer to match the binding ring to your album. They are sold in packs of five or available in bulk.

Intricacies as Placemats

We recently received an order for some heart Intricacies from Kristy at http://kristyscustomcreations.com/. The colors she chose for them were fantastic. I had never thought of doing a chocolate colored one before and it was so great! I had to cut some out to show you how great her order of hearts looked all stacked together. The scanned picture doesn't do it justice. Isn't it pretty?

I don't know if your kids wake up in the morning to yummy treats for them at the table, but I like to do something special for my kids on Valentine's Day. I thought the Chocolate colored heart Intricacy would be perfect for a place mat to put their treats.

I made it simple just in case you were thinking of using the idea for your child's classroom. How cool would these look at each desk!?

Have you met Ana??

Ana is one of Christy's relatives and part of the reason MOSD gives such lightening fast service. While at CHA, I had a chance to hang out with her and she is truly one of the nicest people I have ever had a chance to meet. If you stopped by the booth at CHA, you probably heard her happy greeting and had your badge scanned by her. She even took us to Hollywood to sight see.

As luck would have it...MOSD has the PERFECT Stacker set for a tribute layout to my new BFF! The friendship stackers are so versatile and the color combo is terrific. I couldn't wait to come home and use them.




So here you are...my tribute to my new BFF! Love ya Ana Banana!!
