She shoots, she scores!

I don't know about you, but as much as I love the holidays, I am ready to get back to business as usual. That means scrapping the everyday pictures that we all have. I bet a lot of you have plenty of sports pictures of your kids in action. My daughter plays travel soccer 2 seasons per year. I can't resist bringing the camera along to capture some of the action. That's where the MOSD Stackers Collections come in handy. I used the Soccer Topper and Monogram to create this page that features one of my fave shots:





There are Stacker collections for most sports - football, karate, softball, and baseball. So pull out those photos and get scrapping!

Little bit of Stick on Love :)

ok I think by now you know how MUCH we LOOOOOOOVE the Stick On's! But I wanted to share some new layouts with you using them. The cool thing is the Stick On's can be cut, altered, inked, you name it-- Here are a few layouts with the Stick on's






Journaling blocks can be used for titles--not just for journaling!
They take the chalk inks from Versamark and can be tinted, aged or stamped!
The Swirly Flourish Stick on's can be cut into many pieces to fit your project or
the look you're going for! The trick is to cut them apart before you take them off
the backing paper to make your own configuration like I did on the Fall Festival layout!

I also wanted to say Happy New Year to all!! Wishing you each and everyone the most fantastic 2009!

All little girls need a little jewerly sometimes....

Thank you to my wonderful model, my daughter Gail, she is now sporting a new jewelry set made with MOSD Stick Ons and the two clear covers from the Clearly Cute - Petite album. I would have shown you my beautiful models face except for the fact I dragged her out of bed to take the photo, no shower or hair done yet. Not a site you want to see...lol.

Here is a close up of the necklace. I took the small clear cover and used extra bits of the Stick Ons that I have not used up from past projects. Don't throw any of the Stick On pieces away, you can always use them in a later project. I attached them onto the same side and then added an eyelet in the hole that was already there. I attached a few MOSD chains from the albums together, along with a few others I had around, and created the necklace part. Added my MOSD pendent and I was all set to let my model try it on.

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to Christy and all the ladies at MOSD. I have really enjoyed working with you all this month. The MOSD products are fun and have really allowed me to be creative with my work. I wish you all the best at CHA and hope that your Stick Ons, Albums and other products are a BIG HUGE HIT!!

Birthday parties...

Well, now that the holidays are over, it's time for us to be thinking about birthdays around our house, as my son's birthday is exactly one month from Christmas. This, of course, had me thinking about gift bags/treat bags and assorted party favors. Leave it to MOSD to be the answer!!


With some pre-made treat bags I found at the dollar store, I covered it with a car intracacy and added a contrasting stick on pictogram. It's a perfect size for a MatchBox Car or a little bag of candy!! And it is economical, too! One Intracacy will make THREE treat bags of this size and I didn't use the circle that was surrounding my stick on, so I have that to use for another day as well (hint...see next Sunday's post for details!).

The True Meaning of Christmas

The girls at Faith Sisters had a 9-day challenge going on in October. You were to make a page about each of the Christmas symbols, based on a story they had posted. I finally got around to printing the story and making my project, using a MOSD album, of course!


I used a MOSD Cover to Cover Tabbed Album, which has two clear covers and six tabbed chipboard pages. I did have to trace two extra pages from some scrap chipboard in order to finish my album. But, I had some chipboard left over from an Expressions Build-a-Book project, so I was in good shape!

I painted the edges of my covers with Cranberry alcohol ink (Tim Holtz) and white acrylic paint (Tim Holtz paint dabber). The star is Cosmo Cricket naked chipboard that I sprayed with "Gloria Glimmer Mist." (To see a tutorial on how to make your own glimmer mist, go here.) I also used a red MOSD Twirly Gig Stick-On and cut some circles with my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies.

The rest of the book contains the printed story from Faith Sisters (I used the Ali's Handwriting font downloaded for free from the CK site). I used a lot of different papers again for this project. For each Christmas symbol, I tried to find an embellishment or a stock photo to match.

Last minute gifts

The cards are sent, the gingerbread's been baked and you're done shopping.
Then you realize you forgot your mail carrier or a neighbor drops by unexpectedly.
Having a couple of quick and easy gifts on hand is a great idea. Here is an example...Snowman Soup!




I found this mug at my grocery store for just a dollar. I layered some Snowflake Stick Ons on the mug. Add some Hot Cocoa, mini marshmallows, and a candy cane and a bit of garland and Voila! A festive and fast way to show your thoughtfulness.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Good morning ladies. It is still cold here in MA and we have a wopper of a storm this weekend. My husband said to me he thinks he has never shoulved and snowblowed as much in his life as he did the past three days....poor guy!

I have a really fun layout to show you today. I used some really fun holly funsies from MOSD.

Check out this layout of my son Grant trimming the three this year. I used a page topper, transparency and title from the Chiristmas Traditional Collection and Journaling Stick Ons.

I wanted to keep this simple and it really worked well. I also added some supplies from Karen Foster, Technique Tuesday and My Minds Eye.

More card and tag ideas

Have you sent our your cards yet? OK...so I am working on it! LOL MOSD makes it so easy with their snowflake stick ons! With a few quotes and a couple of stick ons, cards make in minutes. And don't forget the gift tags...

A Few of my Favorite Things....

The Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies... I have no idea why they always show it at Christmas time - or why the song "favorite things" is considered a Christmas song... but Hey if I was running the world it would be a very different place. :-)

So, since it is Christmas Time and the Powers that be have deemed "Favorite Things" a Christmas Song - I'll go with it.

This Post is going to be a few of MY favorite things....in no particular order...I know they should ALL be MOSD things - but that's not going to be true!

1. Starbucks - I have cut back over the last year but my Love grows ever strong. I even got an ornament in an exchange this year. You know what??? I should design a coffee themed Stacker Collection! Keep youe eyes open for that one!

2. Speaking of Stacker Collections.... My favorite collection to date is the: Travel Collection --- it's one of the first I designed for MOSD and I just remember falling in love. Now I just need to take a trip so I have something to Scrap!

3. Scrapbooking - this is such a wonderful hobby. I am so thankful for all the moments over the past year I scrapbooked. My children now join me and have become quite creative in their endevors! Here they are on their very first scrap day with my good friend Judy!

4. My favorite section in the MOSD Gallery is the "out of the box" category... our designers are Amazing and they always amaze me! I do not think out of the box - I am very black and white in my designs. I can't pick a favorite designer or a favorite project - but I have to say this one made me smack my head saying - Why can't I think of coll stuff like that!

So there you have it --- a few of MY favorite things! Have a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and enjoy Kwanza Everyone!

Have You Mailed Your Christmas Cards Yet?

I have made my own Christmas cards since 1995. I know crazy, right? I used to make about 150 to 200 cards! Even crazier! I'm now down to making about 50-60 cards - moving a lot does have the benefit of getting to cross "certain people" off my card list! I have all my cards made, but they are not yet addressed or mailed. I lack follow-through sometimes.

Here are two cards I made using the MOSD Snowflake Stick-Ons. (Both cards appeared on the Card Sketch A Day site in December!)

For this first card I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder to emboss the blue paper. Then I sewed all around the edge (yes, with an actual sewing machine, which I did not break, not exactly anyway...). I trimmed the words from a sheet of scrapbook paper, and hand-sewed them to the card (and I did not even sew the card to my shirt this time!). I added the Snowflake Stick-Ons, and ta-da, a card!
This next card took advantage of the new Inchies craze. (Which is an old technique and used to be called Deco Squares.) I trimmed some squares of paper and added Snowflake Stick-Ons and some glitter with clear Stickles and a glitter pen. Easy and cute!

I hope you get your cards in the mail this weekend! And that at least one was handmade! I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Shaker Ornament

With Christmas just around the corner I just had to make one more ornament, and I knew that I wanted it to use the gorgeous snowflake stickons from Midnight Oil! To make this ornament you will need:

patterned paper

ribbon

snowflake stickon

glitter

transparency

something to fill the shaker

I just simply cut out two different sized circles and nested them inside of each other and stitched around the diameter. I then made an envelope out of two transparencies to fit within the inner circle and adhered, leaving the top open to fill. I filled my ornament with snowflakes and sequins. I then applied my stickon and covered in glitter. Lastly punch a hole in the top and thread ribbon through. You could also use this as a gift tag by just adding the To & From on the front. Enjoy!

Clearly Festive

There's something about the holidays that make me want to create. I love working with the color pallettes and adding touches of glitter where I can. My project today is a quick and easy one that can add a bit of festive flair to your home.




Here's what you'll need:
3 pages from a Clearly Designed Acrylic Easel Album
MOSD Snowflake Stick Ons in pink and blue
Large chipboard letters (I used Making Memories)
Zip Dry adhesive
Mica flakes
Ribbon / ric rac of your choice

1. Begin by randomly placing the snowflake Stick Ons to the backs of the 3 acrylic pages.
2. Glue the large chipboard letters to the front side of the acrylic.
3. Outline 3 edges of the pages with adhesive. Add mica flakes over adhesive. Shake off the excess.
4. Tie bow on center hole of each page with coordinating ribbon.
5. Thread banner using remaining ribbon and hang where desired. I like how the frosty effect works with my tree.

8 days till Christmas!!!!!

Wow the excitement sure is building--only 8 more days till the big guy in red starts his flight around the world! Are you still scurrying around trying to find or make some goodies for those on your holiday list??? Here's a quick ornament that you can make in multiples!




How to make the Joy Bird Ornament

You'll need
Swirl Flourish Stick On Set in brown or black
a scrap piece of Chipboard (the back of a legal pad works or spiral notebook)
Patterned paper
Chipboard Accents (I used Chatterbox bracket chipboard and Tim Holtz Grunge board bird)
Ink/paint (for this project I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Tim holtz and Radiant Rain in Hot Cinnamon (for the bird)
Christmas Red Stickles
Script stamp or some other small background stamp
Alphabet stickers or stamp set ( I used the letter stickers in the Chatterbox Christmas set)

Cover the Chipboard with patterned paper and trim to size--I always use a nail file--seriously the best thing for chipboard edges if you like the distressed look--I buy mine at the local Dollar tree. Sand the edges of the paper. Add ink to edges to distress further


Paint your bird or other chipboard design and let dry. To save time you could use a preprinted holiday chipboard piece.
Once the radiant rain has dried or the paint has dried. Stamp your background design in black over the top of it. This is a script stamp that I use on tons of projects!

Now take your chipboard frame and outline the edges with Christmas red Stickles. Let dry.

Once dry adhere to the Chipboard square.Now it's time to put your Swirl Flourish Stick on's on top of the elements.

Layer the chipboard bird or other chipboard ornament top of it.

Add the letter stickers to spell out your sentiment--I chose Joy for mine.

Next you'll put a ribbon holder on the top of it--by gluing it on the back of the chipboard square. If you'd like you can cover the back of the ornament with a coordinating piece of pattern paper or cardstock to cover up where the ribbon is glued on.

Hip to Be Square....who wants to be hip?

If anyone has ever lived in Boston or visited you know how important the Boston Red Sox are to the fans. Well Fenway Park where the Red Sox play their home games is as important also. My husband got the chance to take a back stage tour of Fenway this summer and of course he had his camera in hand and got some great shots.

I used the Hip To Be Square album to create this fun memory album for my DH. I drilled holes using his drill press to to make room for me to stitch the threads on the baseball on the front cover. The album acrylic is so easy to make holes in and using the drill press was super fun. I just felt so handy....lol. I used acrylic paint to create the baseball and then stitched with red thread to finish it off.

On this page I used the Journaling Bits Stick ONn, some paper strips and some Cosmo Cricket Get Happy paper. Here is a view of the page that is under the acrylic cover. I love how you can see the Fenway sign in the top right of the cover.

This next page uses more Journaling Bits and the Stick On Parentheses. Some other fun touches and this page was done. I cut a circle out with my 3 inch punch and the Journaling Bits fit just perfect in the middle.

For this last page I used a MOSD Monogram "T" for Tradition. I cut out a circle again with my punch and pop dotted this embellishment off the page.

One last thing...this album is so easy to make and so quick to put together. I can see some coordinating papers with some holiday photos, maybe you can paint a Christmas Tree on the front, poke some holes and add brads or bling as ornaments. How about giving this a try and giving one to a friend or family member as a gift this holiday season. My little book is going in my Mini Album Bowl that sits on my coffee table.

The Countdown is on...

Every Which Way!

A simple shot of all the kids together - is it so much to ask??? Aparently so because I never managed to get it - everyone is doing something and no one is interested in having the picture turn out... so I took advantage of the theme and used a Monday Morning Memories (a division of MOSD, Inc.) Arrow Intricacy. I used some Arrow die cuts to help accent the page and add a third color. Quick easy page... I only have about 6 months of scrapping to do in 3 weeks in order to meet my 2008 New Year's Resolution... and with orders and CHA prep I'm not thinking that is going to happen, lol. Oh well, I tried!

Gift Tags

As we've seen here on the blog lately, MOSD products are VERY versatile! You are about to see more!

I had a Cover to Cover Mini Flip album in my stash and was wondering what to make with it. This album is approx. 4x3 inches, has two clear covers, and 6 chipboard pages. All the pages are 3-hole punched to accommodate three rings on the 4 inch side. Hmmmm what to make what to make what to make?

I ended up with 8 gift tags! Check them out! This first one has a stamped and embossed tree (Stampin' Up) and a Bo Bunny embellishment.

This next tag is very simple - just some Daisy D's paper, a Creative Cafe felt flower, some rick rack, a button, and some charms.

This tag looks complicated, but it's not. The paper is "pre-collaged" Daisy D's paper, some lace ribbon, a K&Company tag, some rick rack and gold cord, and a fancy flower from Walmart!

This one required a bit more product, but is still pretty simple. The paper is K&Company, and comes with the script already printed on it! The tag is also from K&Company. The tree is a Cosmo Cricket chipboard piece, covered with a scrap of Basic Grey paper, then sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The swirl is a Bo Bunny cardstock sticker and the stamp is from Inkadinkado. And then I tied on a bit of Stampin' Up ribbon.

And because I love the Glimmer Mist, I sprayed this gold cardstock with it! The chipboard stocking and paper is Cosmo Cricket, embellished with a gold pen and a glitter pen.

This next tag is my favorite of the bunch! The papers were out of my scrap bin. To match the purple (in real life the colors match better than here!) I sprayed the chipboard key and the paper flower with Glimmer Mist. It's very sparkly and rich looking! Love it.

Here is a closeup of the sparkle.

Then again, this one is also my favorite! This tag is one of the clear covers, edged with white paint. The paper and die cut are K&Company. The pink paper was edged with a Martha Stewart punch. The snowflakes are MOSD Stick-Ons, embellished with Stickles glitter glue. The jewel brad is from Creative Imaginations.

This last tag is the other clear cover, edged with white paint. The Basic Grey paper is just a tad smaller than the tag. The snowflakes are MOSD Stick-Ons, again embellished with Stickles. I added a Bo Bunny tag, some silver cord, and a scrap of ribbon.
