God's Love and Joy...

Friends of ours were recently blessed with a
sweet baby boy
so I just had to make them a precious card
to congratulate them.
With the help of MOSD,
you can see how gorgeous
this sweetly simple card turned out to be.
I used the "Babies and Children" Clearly Stated transparencies
for the inside of my card
and the "Baby of Mine" Topper for the cover.

Truly, God's love and joy have
come into our friends' lives.
May your lives be equally blessed!

She shoots, she scores!

I don't know about you, but as much as I love the holidays, I am ready to get back to business as usual. That means scrapping the everyday pictures that we all have. I bet a lot of you have plenty of sports pictures of your kids in action. My daughter plays travel soccer 2 seasons per year. I can't resist bringing the camera along to capture some of the action. That's where the MOSD Stackers Collections come in handy. I used the Soccer Topper and Monogram to create this page that features one of my fave shots:

There are Stacker collections for most sports - football, karate, softball, and baseball. So pull out those photos and get scrapping!

Best wishes for a Happy and Healthy 2009!

The Thanksgiving Stacker Collection

I hope everyone has recovered from the Big Dinner and the massive shopping day! I spent "Black Friday" here at home with the laundry and a house full of kids. I did sneek away to create a simple layout using our * New* Thanksgiving Stacker Collection .

This was from Thanksgiving 2006 - I was the hostess and cooked my very first Thanksgiving Dinner! I had plenty of direction from my Mom and help where it counted most from my Husband. There was no way on earth I was reaching in that bird and pulling out the innards.

This collection is available to retailers and will be sent to our talented designers in December! Keep checking for more great ideas using the Thanksgiving Collection!

School Memories

I have to admit that I am terribly "behind" with scrapbooking my kids' school photos. Part of the issue is that they are homeschooled, so most of what we do is "family" stuff and not specifically "school." But, there are SOME school pages to be scrapped, and each of the three children DOES have a school album...so...I'm behind! So much so that I am currently scrapping my 8 year old son's preschool photos. He's in 3rd grade now!

I found these photos from Jonah's first year of preschool (2003-2004) and thought he was so CUTE back then. Notice his hair! He cut his own hair the night before Picture Day! (I scrapped the 8x10 portrait already - to better tell THAT story!) And yes, although we have homeschooled since 1999, I still sent THIS child out to preK for 2 years! The "hair cut story" is just the tip of the iceberg!

My inspiration for this layout was a Becky Fleck PageMap (pictured). The sketch is on Becky's Blog as a CK Call. I had thought to enter the contest, but failed to read the fine print which said it was for the May/June issue. A school layout is not appropriate for a spring issue! That's why you get to see the layout today!

To create the layout, I used part of the Edger from the School Days Collection. I cut it apart and only used about half if it. I inked it up to give it dimension, and then added some sticker numbers to the book spine for the date. I also used the transparency from the School Topper for my title. I also added some red and black Twirly Gigs around my journaling block (circle?).

Thanks for looking!

Title Trouble?

I have been trying to catch up on my scrapping... I know, I know - there are no rules and there is nothing wrong with being behind, scra what inspires you - blah, blah, blah... I have tried it all but can't get past the part that I used to be causght up and now I'm behind! So my strategy has been to scrap everything I have a month at a time - so it's October and I should be scrapping, October 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 as it happens... aside from the obvious time restraints work and the family put on me - the "experts" whoever they are are kinda right... it's boring scrapping halloween 4 times in a row - and I find my clever titles are lacking by year 3 and 4... so I'm having title trouble, and I'm wondering if any of you out there in blog land can suggest excellent places to find Terrific Titles... post your ideas and I will choose at random a winner of 10 MOSD Toppers --- part of our "stacker Collections" our little corner of the title market!
I'll leave you with a picture of a Custom Topper I created for Kristy's Custom Creations
... too bad she didn't need a halloween title, LOL!

Toppers & Stackers & Edgers, oh my!

One thing I love about MOSD is the variety of products offered. Today I'd like to highlight Stacker collections. These are pre cut paper piecings that come with a transparent overlay. They are offered in a variety of themes such as sports, holidays, baby & weddings. They can be inked, chalked, doodled or stamped. They are a complement to any style of scrap supplies and work well as a title or embellishment.

On this layout, a Celebrating Freedom topper became a title for this July 4th page.

On this layout, a Baby Boy monogram was backed with a scalloped piece of fabric and turned into a title:

You can even turn an Edger into a card. Here is an Easter Spiritual edger:

Hope these samples help you get some mojo flowing!
