Ahoy Matey!

MOSD's Build-a-Book Wordbooks are amazing! I was able to spell the word "MATEY" for a pirate themed mini album! How cool is that?! You are able to buy just the letters you need for your project. No getting stuck with the same old words all the time.

I used Rusty Pickle paper and the MOSD Pirate Stacker Collection, plus some other pirate themed items from the craft store. I bound my album with the NEW spiral rings, in black.

Here is a closeup of the MOSD Pirate Stacker Collection.

Here is another view of the MOSD Pirate Stacker.

The pirate ship below is also from the MOSD Stacker Collection.

The transparency quote is another piece of the MOSD Stacker. These are very easy to pull apart and use as needed.

(There are no photos in the album yet, since I did not want to share the photos of my son's friends online without permission.)

What's Cookin?

Have you seen our Long Division mini albums? They feature two acrylic covers and 5 tabbed chipboard pages. As soon as I received one, I knew what I wanted to create. A cookbook! But not just any cookbook. I wanted to have a place to save all our family favorite cookie recipes.

I simply covered the chipboard divider pages with patterned paper and used them to separate the recipes : drop cookies, bar, shaped, etc. I completed the album with our brown Spiral Rings and embellished with some ribbon and a measuring spoon. Easy and fun!

Getting dirty...

I have found a new favorite in my scrapbooking supplies...Dimensional Paints!! Found in the art supply aisle at most craft stores, this paint is perfect for adding a little dimension to the edges of acrylic. It is also awesome when making mud on a page!!

Here, I wanted to add some dimension to my demolition derby pictures. So I added some dimensional paint to the car pictogram stick ons! They came off and applied as easily as if they were not altered.

This would be a perfect technique for tractors, farms or anything where you want to look muddy! So give it a try and come back and let us know how you did!!

Intricacies

I know some people love the Intricacies but also wonder how to use them. Here are a couple of examples. The number 2 one was a custom one for a customer. I cut it apart and used it for this layout.
The next one is the Blooms Intricacy and I used the whole thing for the background to my page.

Love is in the Air

Valentine's Week was not enough. I need Valentine's Month to show you all my "lovely" projects! Today I want to show you a mini album I made with the new Build a Book Phase II Perfectly Shaped pages. You can purchase just the type and number of pages you need! For this album I used three clear pages and five shaped pages. MOSD has 18 shapes to chose from!

I used a lot of NEW Valentine's paper for this project - from Little Yellow Bicycle and Basic Grey (plus some other odds and ends). Below you can see a view of all the shaped pages. Isn't it yummy?!

Can you tell that I just purchased the smooth and scallop heart Nestabilities dies from Spellbinders? Love those hearts!

You can see that I edged the clear pages with paint to make them stand out. What you can't see well from the photos is that I mixed two colors of acrylic paint with some clear Stickles! This makes for a nice sparkly page!

Thanks for looking! (And I apologize for the poor photo quality this time. I'd like to blame camera issues, but it's really operator error!)

Cold Weather Again!

Well, after a taste of spring like temperatures it is once again frigid in the Midwest! We have blustery winds today and snow showers, so it put me in the mood to show off more work using the MOSD snowflake stick-ons. I just keep coming back to using these on design after design. For this layout I used the October Afternoon Cheer colletion which works perfect with the pink snowflakes. Take a look!

More of a good thing....

Happy Tuesday everyone! I want to start off by sending some prayers over to Veronica and her Daughter- Veronica's daughter is very sick, so Veronica could not be with us today- here's to a speedy recovery! If you get a chance - give Veronica some Love and support!

Onto my project for today.. MOSD is launching a brand new program March 1st... it's call Word Book of the Month and it is only available through your online or local Scrapbook store... Check our RETAILES page for great places to shop MOSD.

This program is just AWESOME because stores have the choice of 3 different words (or they can order up all 3) and they come 2 ways.. Bare Word Books are plain, untrimmed letters (MSRP is $1 a letter - so the price will vary depending on the word) and Ready to Decorate Word Books come trimmed, punched and with 3 of our BRAND NEW Sprial Rings. The MSRP on these books is $10.00... both GREAT DEALS for your creative addiction.

The words for March are:

Hunt

Spring

and

Bunny

Take a look at what I did with the word Hunt...

Here is a butterfly I crumpled, inked, layered and stickled!

The "T" page is decorated with paper flowers, buttons, silk flowers and a pink Twirly Gig Stick On. I also did lots of inking!

Flower Close up... I love the stickled centers of the mini silk flowers.

A view of the completed book... I used scrap chipboard to add an EXTRA PAGE to the end, shaped like an egg of course! I also used the Topper Transparency for our Easter Cute Stacker Collection. (See close up below). Lots of ribbon, Stick Ons and ink make this a charming table top album. I can't wait to add pictures!

Just a different angle to show some dimension... I hope you enjoy our New Build A book - Book of the Month Program... Contact your Favorite Scrapbook and Paper Craft store and ask them to feed your need to create!

Hello everybody!
Here's some pages of a Step Album I made a couple of years ago. The clear albums are so much fun! There's so much room for creativity with these.

Show a little love

Even though Valentine's Day is over, you can still send a card to your special person to let them know that you care. As a matter of fact, I love to give and get cards for no special reason other than to know someone was thinking of me.

So here is a card I made with my scraps. MOSD Intracacies can really go a long way and I hate to waste an inch of them!

And don't forget to tell those special people in your life how much they mean to you...even if there is no holiday in sight!

Love Ya!

You can probably tell that the design team all received Valentine's Intricacies in their DT box this month! I used my red heart intricacy to make this layout of my youngest son and me. The photo is from 2002. I love this picture of us together. I don't have a lot of memories of cuddling this boy, as he was always on the move! So this quiet moment is precious!

I used some buttons from my stash that matched his shorts! (I am pretty sure the buttons came from my LSS club kit.) I also found a scallop blade for my Fiskars trimmer to use on this layout! It's amazing what you find in your stash if you just bother to look! The bling title has been in my stash for a while as well.

I challenge you to dig through your stash and see what's hiding in there!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A Sweet Treat!

I made this cute little candy jar using an old Prima jar & the heart/Valentine Midnight Oil intricacy. I just cut off a measured section and adhered it to the bottle and added a few embellies. I think this will make an adorable gift for someone special.

Hoppy Valentine's Day!

Yes, I know, very punny - LOL!

My project today was a fun and easy one. I created this card using one of our newest Deluxe Toppers. Isn't this frog the cutest? I used some chalk and foam tape to make the frog stand out more. The word "leaps" was spritzed with red glimmer mist.

I also punched out a circle from a pink heart Intricacy for the background. Green ribbon from my stash completed the card.

My youngest son, Tommy, thinks this card is the greatest, so I think it will be his for Valentine's Day...

Be sure to remind those important to you how much they mean to you this Valentine's Day.

Love....

exciting and new...come aboard...we're expecting you...Oops! Wrong song! LOL Welcome to LOVE WEEK here on the MOSD Blog!! This week our designers will be highlighting fun ways to use MOSD products for all your Valentine's Day needs. We recently had a preview from Suzy on how to make Valentine's Day placements...so here are some other ways to share the love...

For my project, I used our hearts intracacy as a backdrop to my favorite photo booth pictures. It seems that photo booths are becoming more and more popular and how much fun is it to take a few pictures of yourself and your loved ones and then scrap them! Don't have a photo booth? You can easily replicate this process by mounting smaller pictures in a line on white cardstock.

I also used the back side of my intracacy to add an inked "mask effect to the layout. It's subtle, but distressed.

So keep watching all week for more Love-themed posts!

Fun Times

I have found that scrapbookers are silly- it's like a requirement.... While at CHA this past January I had the pleasure of encountering the silly ladies from Chino Scrapbook Company . From Left to right we have: Diana, Debbie and Jen --- all with MOSD tatoos on their faces trying to win one of our AWESOME Build a Book Kits!
Have you seen the NEW Build a Book - Perfectly shaped set yet??? NOOOO - yowza - stay tuned this week as I add the shapes to the MOSD website and then you can go to YOUR local ( and I bet silly) store and ask them to bring in the kits!
In the meantime- I need to give the gals over at the Chino Scrapbook Company a call and see when I can come by and teach a class or help them with a Mak and Take---
I'm not too far from Chino!
