Back from CHA...

We had a great time and met some very wonderful people! Here are a few pictures so that you can share in some of the fun!

And here is one of the winners of our Build a Book Perfectly Shaped Collection. We gave out tattoos and if you were spotted wearing them, you won. This lucky lady went around all day with the tattoo on her forehead! Looks like her hard work paid off!!

Let's Spin!

Spinners are a new, CHA release, but the DT was able to have a chance to play with them ahead of time! I used a circle spinner to hold some journaling. I wanted the page to have the feel of a circus (since the kids' grandfather is like the circus come to town!). I punched all the windows out of the spinner so that it would look like a 3-D pinwheel. The spinners come in several shapes and are very versatile!

I also used a few red Stick-Ons (twirly gigs) to mimic the streamers in the Basic Grey Cupcake paper.

CHA Pics

The Chicks from MOSD are finishing up and getting ready to head home from CHA but I wanted to share some Pics of the MOSD booth, that came from ShoppingDiva's Flicker site. Thanks Suzy for finding them and sharing them with us! I'm sure we'll see some great pics when everyone gets home and gets settled back in from the busy week. So until then here you go....

She loves me, she loves me not

One of the new CHA releases, is the Spinner! A chipboard spinner set that you can customize to fit your layouts, mini albums, you name it! The spinners have openings that you can pop out to include photos, journaling or whatever you choose.

I used the Scallop Spinner set here to create a large flower :)I punched out all the areas to create solid petals on the flower. You'll also see some of the journaling stick on's in the lower right corner too!

A little love--A Valentines Gift Idea

Good Morning! I hope everyone enjoyed all the CHA Sneak Peeks! Here's another quick, fun and great gift for Valentines day using the new 6x6 Cover ups--they are really cool.



To make this project you'll need

a metal heart tin--I picked a few of these up at Dollar Tree at the first of January
6x6 Cover Up, I used the princess crown

Take the top off of the tin and lay on the backside of the 6x6 cover up. Take a marker and trace around the lid shape. Then cut out according to your tracing. Peel off the backing and apply to the front side, just like the regular stick on process. Rub down really well and then apply the design to the top of the tin. Since you trimmed the design to fit, you shouldn't have any excess on the sides but if you do, just rub down over the edges of the tin. Now you can line the inside with some fun Valentine paper and put in some yummy chocolates!

Well--- after that week of peeks let me just say my project is just a little ordinary! I hope you think it's fun - I did!

I like matching and coordinating - all through my house I try and buy or make coordinated things. Soap dispensers for the bathrooms can be pricy and you don't always want a green eyed tree frog bathroom! So I end up buying the cheapo plastic anti bacterial soaps and ignoring the tropical fish that do not match the bathroom AT ALL... well I found a way to jazz up those cheapo soap dispensers --- STICK ONS!

I used the flower Stick ON from the GIRLY GIRL line...and stickles my favorite embellishment these days to make a cute decoration for the girls' bathroom.

Friday Sneakie Peekie!

Well, it's Friday already! Have you enjoyed the sneak peeks this week? Are you excited about all the new MOSD products?! Well, the DT sure is! We've been loving working with the new stuff. I mean, who doesn't love new stuff?!

My peek today is another take on the new shaped pages. Instead of making an album out of my pages, I made this banner.

I covered each shaped page with printed paper, and then attached a glitter letter and some other goodies. (Would you believe these letters were SILVER when I started out? I painted them with green alcohol ink!)

Each panel is attached to the next panel with large eyelets. I also punched some flowers from printed paper and misted them with glimmer mist, then shaped them to give them dimension.

This is a frosted bird from Maya Road. I added an eye with black Stickles.

My favorite part of this banner is this handmade flower. I cut a scalloped circle out of paper, using a Nestabilities die, and then sprayed it with glimmer mist. While it was still wet, I wadded it up and shaped it. When it was dry it had some nice dimension. (I got this idea from Leah Fung's blog.)

This butterfly is an Autumn Leaves stamp. I stamped it twice, then cut both images out. I sprayed them with glimmer mist also, and scrunched them up. (I used Staz-On ink so that the ink would not bleed or run when it got wet.) I attached the two butterflies together with pop-dots to give dimension.

A Double Dose

How about a two for one special peek today? I'm going to give you a peek at more shaped albums plus the new 6X 6 stickons! And let me just say that I love these stickons for album covers! I used the circle one for the cover & the harlequin for the back for this birthday album for my daughter. I also used the the scalloped shaped pages and one of the small rectangle shapes to make a cupcake tag.

Can I just tell you that I am in love?

Our latest addition to the Build-a-book line is the Perfect Shapes pages.
We're talking circles, scallops and other fun chipboard shaped pages that fit perfectly in a 6x6 mini albums.

I started with a pair of acrylic covers that I colored with alcohol inks.
That's when the fun started. Check out the variety of shaped pages I used and how they all overlap onto the pages that follow, creating a peek of the pages to come.

Tuesday Sneak Peek!!

This is the coolest Acrylic album! It's a gatefold :) and it's got those cool custom color rings--I chose Clear ones for this album--they just seem to disappear into the album which is a really cool effect for the Gatefold when it's open.

CHA Sneak Peek Monday

Did you see Shannon's awesome Long Division album yesterday? Does tackling a big album seem a little frightening to you??? Have no fear! (No, Underdog is NOT here, but anyway. bad joke.)
One of MOSD's partner Retailers: Lickety Split Scrapbooks will be using the Long Division in Creating Keepsakes classes all over the USA! Wendy's classes are a lot of fun and you get to learn great ways to use the products from MOSD.

Today is the kick off to SNEEK PEEK WEEK here at MOSD! I am pleased to bring you one of the new acrylic albums that will be shown at CHA Winter...The LONG DIVISION!! The Long Division Album Comes with 2 acrylic covers and 5 tabbed dividers. It's perfect for so many different projects. I chose to do a birthday planner, but you are truly only limited by your imagination (and we are even here to help you with that!). You can flip the book so that the tabs face down as well. Vintage, Part 2

For those of you who did not get to see Vintage, Part 1, go and visit Friday's blog post. For those of you who are wondering what I am doing posting on a Saturday, never fear! I am not taking over the blog by force...I'm just filling in. We'll be back to our regular post schedule after CHA! And for those of you who have been waiting to see what I did with the other half of the Big Boy cover....here it is!



This vintage stamp is called "Picking Flowers with Mom" and is made by The Stamping Ground. The Happy Valentine's Day stamp is Close to My Heart. I cut the scalloped circle with a Nestabilities die, and then ran it through the Big Shot using the Cuttlebug Divine Swirl Embossing Folder. Then I rubbed some cranberry alcohol ink and some old paper distress ink over it, crumpled it up, and attached it to the project.

MOSD Goes Vintage

I have to confess that my scrappy roots are vintage. I started out in the paper craft arts (18 years ago) as a stamper - mostly a collage, vintage arts, found items sort of gal. I know! Shocking, right?! I still have a love for that sort of art, but I don't care for the vintage style for my scrapbooks. (Go figure!) So, that means, I don't get to play with all my vintage stuff very often. So, I thought that my project today would be a fun way to show how MOSD can "go vintage" and to also show you that side of my style.

I was looking at all my MOSD products and noticed I had one Big Boy clear cover. Well, what can you do with ONE cover? (And what happened to the other one?!) So, I cut the Big Boy in half and rounded the corners with the Zutter Round-it-All, and made this clear Valentine "card."

You can see that I inked the edges of the clear cover with brown Staz-On ink. I love how this turned out!

I stamped the vintage lady with a stamp called "Opening Night" from The Stampsmith. (Isn't she great?! She looks like an old photograph!) I used Tim Holtz distress ink (vintage photo) to stamp the lady, and then tore the edges and smudged on more distress ink (old paper). The other stamps - "be mine forever" and the postage stamp - are from Close to My Heart (Vintage Valentine).

I made this paper flower following a technique I saw on Leah Fung's blog. Mine are not as nice as the one's on Leah's blog, but...oh well. I like mine anyway! I spayed the paper with some Gloria Mist (my version of Glimmer Mist).

The key is chipboard, which I sprayed with Gloria Mist also, and then sealed it with Modge Podge. After it was dry I ran the chipboard through my Big Shot, using the Divine Swirl embossing folder. The heart is chipboard that I painted with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint. That was also sealed with Modge Podge.

The word "Love" is chipboard that I inked with Lipstick Red Colorbox Chalk ink, then glazed with a thin layer of Modge Podge. I then ran the letters through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Now, I know you are asking yourself, "what about the other half of your ONE Big Boy cover, Gloria?" Well, I get to blog again TOMORROW, so you can see what I did with that half tomorrow!
