I primarily work from home, which for me is a good thing. However, I'm spending a lot of time this summer in meetings at the office. We have one woman who takes care of EVERYTHING at the office, including prepping for all of my meetings. I made this little hanging for her just to let her know that I appreciate all the help she gives me.

I used the Perfectly Shaped circle scallop page for the background, which I painted with a few colors of acrylic paint. Then I layered on a piece of the flower Intricacy that I spritzed with Glimmer Mist. I layered on some flowers and made the title with some alphas in my stash.

This little hanger came together so quickly using the MOSD products!

Beach Fun Indeed!

We spend so much time at our local

theme park where there is a mock beach

and super fun waterpark during the summer.

Of course, you KNOW I have tons of pictures!

The "Beach" in my title is from

MOSD's Stacker Collections

and accompanying it is the great piece from the

Stick Ons Journaling Bits.

What more fun way to cherish my "beach" pictures

than to showcase them in a really fun mini album?!

EssenseVibez in the Houseeeeeeee---coming to you with a project for the month of July—oh oh oh just so you know, i'll be posting twice a month with some delish projects using the MIDNIGHT OIL PRODUCTS--who by the way has THE most fantastikal products ever!

here is a simple minibook i made for my daughter to leave at her desk when she thinks about her boys or just showoff to her coworkers--
i used the Midnight Oil Perfectly Shaped Build a Book Shapes
they come in so many shapes it's hard to decide which ones you want to create with--

i painted each piece--added grid paper on one side, distressed the edges and inked some flourishes--then i added cute photoz of my grandsons--and wrote what i wanted the boys to know and understand the importance of brotherhood and family--more shapes and photoz will be added later--

I used the MOSD Friendship Edger

for my card today.

After having a fantastic vacation with a dear friend

that I hadn't seen in two years,

I figured she deserved a "paper hug."

That's what our paper creations are, you know...

when you give them away,

they become "paper hugs."

This particular MOSD Edger

originally states "Hold a Friend with Both Hands"

and features a cute little antique telephone,

you know... the kind you hold "with both hands."

Very clever!

And the words are meant to lay over the die cut strip.

I changed my edger up a bit so you could

see the various ways you can work with these great tools.

So the inside of my card reads...

T-Ball Mini album

(OK so I am finally back online and working problem free again! Gotta love computers-huh?! So I am a couple days late-sorry!)

So for the boys T-ball coach who was an OUTSTANDING coach I wanted to do something really special to thank him for all he has done for the boys so I grabbed my trusty MOSD products and some of the new super fun BoBunny paper and began creating away! I made a mini album for the coach with various pictures I had taken during the season showing just how involved and dedicated the coach was to the kids. I started with Perfectly Shaped Build A Book Pages, I added one of the Clearly Designed Album pages, I thought the Razzle Dazzle Cover Up in black looked a lot like the chain link fences at the baseball fields so I used that on a page, I also added a piece of the Star Intricacy Paper with a Clearly Stated Transparency over it. This was SO much fun to put together and there are SO many MOSD products that can mixed and matched to create one of your own! The coach was beyond touched and was speechless upon receiving such a personal gift! I think it was a success! ; )

Christmas in July!!

Wow I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by. We are half we through already, and even though it's summer in the USA it's when I begin to think about the Joys of Christmas. The family parties and lets not forget that Christmas Shopping List. Well in early celebration of Christmas I created a Banner using MOSD Perfectly Shaped Home Plate. I turned the Shapes upside down and viola a banner was created I also loved how easy it was to stitch the pattern paper right onto the Home Plate.

i have a question for you---

do you ever sit by yourself in the morning and just want to soak
in the quietness of the house?

then you look up and before you know it,
you become one with God

i do and when i have all kinds of thoughts going through
my head i like to write them down

just plain ol' simple thoughts
so i made a
"dear god" journal

i made this journal using the Perfectly Shaped Build A Book
i painted one side of each shape cut a square in one of the shapes adhered vellum to the square then added my photo- i adhered another shaped chipboard behind the front and back covers the pages are made from white cardstock-
then added my own personal doodling touches on the page
i plan on filling this journal with more of my thoughts to God

A man's home...

Hello all of you awesome MOSD fans and fellow DT members! I've been out of synch for a while and am happy that I've had some time to create recently...

I was looking through my stash and thinking about my hubby...and saw one of the AWESOME shaped chipboard MINI BOOK pages I have in my stash...I turned it here and there and thought...HMMMMM...if I hold it a certain way, it reminds me of a house...now I'm sure this isn't the first time this shape has taken on the shape of a house, but my idea took shape as I also looked at some of the other shapes...I LOVE the layered look when I make mini albums, and some of the other chipboard SHAPES make it SO EASY to layer!

I'm not completely finished with this project, but wanted to give you a sneek peek...

I can't wait to get back to this project and finish it...I'll post it again once it's finished:)

MOSD goes to School!

Hello MOSD lovers! Amy here with today's blog post. Today I am doing things a bit different than usual. This project is actually not created by me! It's created by Kayla, my 10 year old daughter. Their 4th grade class had to create a tri-fold based on The Oregon Trail. Kayla had the bright idea of incorporating some wonderful MOSD products into her demonstration!

One item that she has been eyeballing for a long time are these spinners. She used the Perfectly Shaped - Retro Spinner. It's been covered in black cardstock and can easily be spun by younger kids (smaller hands) with the ribbon she attached to the back. This added an interactive aspect to the tri-fold that makes people interested in seeing what comes next when they spin it!

Another fun thing she did was cover MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Circles with lined paper and wrote her paragraphs on those as opposed to just a regular piece of paper. This added a visual interest and draws the readers eyes to the questions at hand. She used 3 perfectly shaped circles for this.

Overall I think she did a fabulous job on this school project, and she loved the fact that she got to incorporate some MOSD product into it. By posting this I wanted to show how versatile MOSD products are and that everyone can use them!! So next time you have a project that needs a little extra oomph, why not grab some MOSD goodness and spice it up a bit?!

Summer Reading journal

My son's last day of third grade is tomorrow - cannot believe it!! So to encourage him to read this summer I thought I'd make a fun little journal for him to keep track of his books read and even draw pictures about the stories (he loves to draw!)

I started with a MOSD Cover 2 Cover Show Off Acrylic Album. This album is about 4x6 - small enough to keep handy!

I used a MOSD Intricacies - Numbers on the acrylic cover.

I added a MOSD Journal Bits Stick On's in black and then added stickers for my title.

A few black MOSD Snap Rings and some ribbon completed the outside of the summer reading journal.

I left the unfinished chipboard on the inside of the journal and added some white papers for variety.

Easy & fun to make! Hopefully my son will add lots of titles into his reading journal this summer!

This sun catcher was so fun and easy to create.

Here's how you can do the same using the

fantastic products from

MIDNIGHT OIL SCRAPBOOK DESIGNS...

Using the FLIPPED OUT ALBUM,

I trimmed one of the smallest acrylic pieces to a perfect square.

With a bit of tissue paper and

waterbase sealer (such as Mod Podge,)

create a stained glass look to one side of your square

using the "mosaic technique."

1. Apply sealer to square first.

2. Quickly but carefully layer torn pieces of tissue paper.

3. Apply sealer over torn pieces of tissue.

Add decorative elements to the FRONT of your square.

I used the STARS INTRICACIES from MOSD

just above my childrens' photos.

Using a heavy duty punch tool (such as the Cropadile,)

punch a hole in each corner of the square.

Add beading wire (I used 22 gauge) and beads.

This would be a super fun project for any age.

Create cherished summer memories!

it's my grandson Tyler on a door hanger I created using the
Perfectly Shaped Build A Book shapes-
I covered the top piece with paper and painted the lower piece-
added a few buttons and embellishments to complete the look-
and yes, he is innocent--of being so darn cute!

Tyler will get this when he comes over today--Won't he be surprised!

MOSD Chipboard Album + Basic Grey = Creative Happiness!

Hello Everyone! It's Naureen with a fun chipboard album project. So I was inspired by another scrapper that used these same papers on a mini album. Since I had some Basic Grey Urban Prarie left in my stash, I knew it would be just enough to make a chipboard album for a friend. This actually is a suprise for her, she doesn't even know it's coming! This album was fun and easy to do. Here are the supplies you will need to make one just like it! Happy Scrapping!

Build a Book turned Shadow Box

Hello Fellow Crafters! Amy here today sharing with you my latest MOSD creation. Every time I look at MOSD products I get inspired. Inspired to play, and hey, that's what this world of crafting is all about right?! One of my favorite MOSD products are the Chipboard Perfectly Shaped Build a Book pages. When you have these in your stash the possibilities are endless as to what you can do. They are so versatile and fun. For this month's project I decided to use the Perfectly Shaped Build a Book pages to create a shadow box to highlight my DS and some of his current loves.

To create the shadow box I used 2 Perfectly Shaped - mini scallop pages for the front and back. I covered the front with paper using a spray adhesive and cut a 4in square out of the middle. I simply painted the back mini scallop page with black acrylic paint.To get depth in the shadow box I used a Perfectly Shaped - Pudgy Rectangle cut into 1in strips and hot glued them between the front and back. So easy, and it turned out so cute!

Once I had the initial frame of the box built it was time to embellish it. I started out with the idea of using the MOSD Picto Gram Cement Truck stick on and built my box around that. What I love about these stick ons is how easy they are to work with. I simply applied the stick on to a piece of cardstock and used colored pencils to give it a pop of color. I Added silver pearls for tire centers and I was done in no time. Not to mention it compliments the Sassafras Apple Jack papers I used perfectly!!

Here is a side view to give you an idea of the depth of the box. It's amazing what all these Perfectly Shaped Build a Book pages can do. They are sturdy and easy to work with, making crafting with them a pleasure! I love this shadow box, it's a true representation of my son and something I will cherish for a long time. Not your birthday... my internet system!

Some crazy things have been happening,

including my post showing up without any message.

So I'm going to try this once again

and hopefully you will enjoy the MOSD goodness I have to share.

As you can see,

I used one of MOSD's Stackers

from the Birthday Collection for my card.

These stackers come trimmed to the finest

for you to create and assemble how you please

or how MOSD perfectly suggests.

Ready for a 12x12 scrapbook layout,

MOSD Stackers fit just right onto your page.

OR you can be all creative and go trimming your stacker

here and there as I have done for my birthday card.

And since this month hosts Mother's Day,

in honor of all women,

we should always create our birthday cards

with a little something something inside.

My card is an envelope card

which allows you to slip in any special something

for the gal of your delight.

Of course there is the obvious gift...

the good ole green ($$) or gift cards/certificates.

But other gifts fit just as nicely and won't break the bank.

What about favorite photos or a poem?

How about some handmade notecards or stationary

(or is it stationery? he he.)

There is always the sweetest gift of "love ya coupons."

Envelope cards work great for group signing...

just have everyone sign a nice sheet of paper

instead of the card. Then slip the sheet into the pockets.

The card stays lovely and the paper is a treasured momento.

I hope this gives you tons of ideas for your next birthday.

Now here is how to create your own envelope card...

Begin by tucking one flap of one envelope into the other.

Close this envelope over onto the other envelope.

Then adhere the remaining flap (of the "other envelope")

to the reverse side of the first envelope.

The two envelopes will end up working just like a card.

The side showing the flap can be covered over

as the "front" of the card.

This leaves the backside looking

neat and clean as if it were card stock.

Now you try it!

Mother Card

We are kickin' off May by dedicating it to the special women our lives.

I created this Mother card using lots of great MOSD Products:

and the inside of the card:

MOSD has a great selection of Intricacies - I started with a a white Flower Intricacy added some foam pop dots under it and attached it to embossed purple cardstock, which is attached to a white premade card.

I picked the 'mother' definition from the Clearly Stated Quotables: Family and attached it to purple and black cardstock, then attached it to the card using more foam pop dots.

I added some sheer birds and Twirly Gigs - Elegante. I also added the Twirly Gigs - Elegante to the inside of the card as well as a tiny 'i love you' stamp.

There you have a quick card with lots of dimension & layers for any Mother in your life.

What Do You Get a Rock Star for His Birthday?

For this month, I made a birthday card using two Perfectly Shaped Build-A-Book pages and part of a star Intricacy.

I covered the chipboard book pages with scraps of paper and then layered the star Intricacy on the front. I chose chipboard pieces that were different sizes so you could see the interior patterend paper peeking through the front. I joined the two pages using black brads and added a sentiment with my Dymo label maker.

This card is for our Little Brother Tristan, who is about to turn 14 and thinks he is a rock-star ladies man!

Creating With Stick On Twirly Gigs

For my project this month, I used some of the Twirly Gigs Stick Ons. They were already blue so I didn't need to color them, but I cut the long tail on the long one to add a 3rd little "twirly" to my card. The Twirly Gigs are very versatile!

Spring Is In The Air

I am in love with the new Basic Grey Kioshi Line and when I was looking for ideas I found a MOSD Friendship Collection Topper that matched the Kioshi paper perfectly. The card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. All the the pattern papers are Basic Grey. The Cardstock and edge strip are both by Bazzill. I added some stickles and BLING to jazz up the papers just a little. I added the MOSD "Best Friends" topper. I used mini glue dots to stick it down and then staples for a decorative touch. Hope you enjoy it!

Us in 2010 - Build a book!

Hello beautiful people! It's Amy here, and I would like to welcome you to the MOSD blog today. I am so excited that it's finally spring, and to celebrate I wanted to create something bright and fun that represented my family. So....Sassafras meet MOSD! I decided that a mini book would be the perfect project. This mini book was created using 6 Build a Book Concave pages. What I like about these pages is the fact that they are so sturdy and they don't come with the holes pre-punched. That way you can choose where you want the bindings to be! How awesome is that?! The concave shape is quite unique. It definitely captures your attention!

For this mini book I focused on my family and who we were in the year 2010. We haven't filled out the pages yet, but we will get to that! I think it will be fun to look back at this book in the years to come and see how much we have all changed! As always I used MOSD Spiral binding rings in black to hold my mini album together. I really can't say enough about these, they make life so easy!

This is daddy's page. I had so much fun dressing these little dolls to fit each of our personalities. Daddy is wearing his Army uniform with custom dog tags. I even gave him a wedding ring ;)

This is me, mom, mommy, Amy. I am wearing my favorite leather jacket, and little Doc Martens. And of course a pretty little rhinestone diamond ring! OK, OK, I admit, I really thought the rings were adorable!

Kayla. She helped design her outfit. If you couldn't tell she really loves leopard print, black and pink right now! And the little tulle peeking out of her skirt is something she also loves in real life!

Kyrsten is 5, she loves sparkles and pretty dresses. I don't know how well you can see it in the picture, but she is wearing a pair of black glitter ballet flats :) These are her 'I have to have those or I'm going to die shoes'

And last but not least here is Koen, my wonderful little man. He is starting to get himself dressed at 2 years old, and he always picks out Khakis and a t-shirt. He is also really into Motorcycles right now, so I thought his outfit was perfect!

Well there you have it, my 'Us in 2010' mini album. I really had SO much fun working on this one, I think it's going to be a yearly project. I can see clearly now!

I love using acrylic pieces for different uses. I had used the flipped out acrylic album recently but didn't use all the pieces, I had one sheet left. So I decided to use it on a layout. I stamped flourishes using Staz-on ink added some pearls and put my photos underneath the acrylic as a cover. I loved the end result, I didn't want to add pattern papers because I felt it would take away from the acrylic and the design of the layout. Oh and I love big titles on a layout too.

Its Baseball season!

So I thought in honor of the opening of baseball season I would use some MOSD baseball items. And in preparation of my little guys playing T-Ball this year I decided to get caught up on scrapping some of their pictures from T-Ball 2 years ago! (YES I am WAY behind in my scrapping-LOL!!)

So for this layout I used the MOSD Baseball Intricacy and to have the intricacy have a "dirty baseball field" feel to it I sprayed it with Vanilla Breeze Glimmer Mist and then after a minute I blotted and rubbed the mist into the paper for subtle yet "grungy" look to the paper. Next I used a MOSD Perfectly Shaped Home Plate page and I inked the edges of it with My Mind's Eye ink using a lighter and darker brown. I used some Basic Gray paper and naked chipboard as well as some Thickers and had this layout done quickly!

If you too have special baseball pictures that you want to scrap a GREAT purchase would be the MOSD Baseball collection! It comes with the baseball intricacy, play ball topper, baseball monogram, and a baseball edger! Add a couple of the Perfectly shaped home plate pages and you can create a couple layouts of your own! Perfectly Shaped... Perfect Mini Books!

Spring has finally sprung!

I pray that each and every reader of MOSD

had a lovely and blessed Easter!

Today's gift from MOSD may be a bit obvious...

a mini book that utilizes the

PERFECTLY SHAPED PAGES.

When considering projects with MOSD products,

I am always drawn to these pages.

I enjoy creating mini albums and mini booklets so

naturally, I LOVE these sturdy little, fun shaped treasures!

The are PERFECT for little books of memories or what-nots.

I have some dear friends about to embark

on a spiritual journey of training

that will take them through the next few years of mission work.

I figure they will need a little notebook of sorts

to jot down notes and quotes,

or just keep track of their own thoughts.

So I utilized the

POSTAGE STAMP PERFECTLY SHAPED PAGE

to act as my booklet cover and the

SQUARE PERFECTLY SHAPED PAGE

to act as the booklet back.

Then I inserted regular notebook paper

timmed to 5x5" every other page of

card stock trimmed to 6x6"

(each piece of card stock is trimmed 1/8" to 1/4" smaller than 6x6.)

Some of the card stock pages are left blank

so my friends can use them as needed.

Perhaps they might adhere a family photo to keep them encouraged

or a photo of someone they treasure during their training.

The second to last page holds a bookmark

that will surely be helpful with tracking the scriptures.

The pocket holding the bookmark was created

by simply trimming a piece of decorative paper

to 3x6" and folding down a 1" portion of it

to expose the beautifully decorated opposite side.

I left the final pages completely blank, as I said,

for their own treasured memories

whether they be words of encouragement or endearing photos.

The polished stone look of the front and back covers

were created by simply using a sponge and craft ink.

I "rubbed" the inked sponge all over the

Perfectly Shaped pieces until I had my desired look.

Then I edged the pieces with another color.

I spritzed the front and back covers with

some "home-made" shimmer mist.

It sparkles like all get-out!

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show it like IRL.

School days card

I just love the MOSD Edgers! I know they were created with layouts in mind, however they are awesome for cards too!

I created a 'school days' card using MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Pudgy Rectangle and School Days Edger.

I started with a pre-made card, covered it with patterned paper.

Trimmed the MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Pudgy Rectangle to 5.25 wide by 4; I added patterned paper and then attached it to the pre-made card using pop dots.

I trimmed the MOSD School Days Edger to fit on the MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Pudgy Rectangle; I added pop dots under the apple die cuts and then outlined the School Days Edger.

I trimmed the transparency words from the School Days Edger kit and attached them to the MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Pudgy Rectangle using Making Memories green staples.

Finally, I added a Quickutz die cut owl, two Fancy Pants pins tied with black sheer ribbon.

With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, I think this would be a great card for my DS's third great teacher!

Remembering a wonderful day...

This time last year, I was just home from a week in Orlando with my family. We spent a wonderful day at Sea World, and I took a million pictures. (of course!) What better way to showcase a bunch of related photos than a mini album?

I started with a MOSD Flipped Out acrylic album. I added color to each of the page edges with alcohol ink. . My LSS had these really fun papers and embellies by Reminisce, so I began building my album to recreate an underwater feel.

I added stickers of coral and fish to the front of some pages and to double sided patterned paper to create lots of depth. Leaving some pages mostly uncovered lets the pages to follow peek through.

Here are some other pages from the album. I used clear buttons to mimic water bubbles and green ribbon for seaweed.

Celebrating the Lord

Easter is coming so much quicker than I realized. I made this little hanger for an Easter gift.

I used the Perfectly Shaped Moon Edge Build a Book page for the background, which I covered in a scrap of cloud-patterned paper. I layered a copy of the 23rd Psalm, which I printed onto tracing paper. I used a Stacker for the title "Celebrating The Lord". I added a couple of lavendar Prima dogwood blossoms to compliment the title, stitched on old sheet music, and added a metal cross charm. I strung vintage lace at the top to hang it.

Time to get the baskets out and hide those eggs!

Sew A Needle Pulling Thread....

Oops, now I have that song in my head! In celebration of National Craft Month, I thought the Material Girl line from Cosmo Cricket would go perfectly with some Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs acrylic this month! It is a bit hard to see in the picture, but I used a large rectangle from the Clearly Designed Flip Out Album as my base for the hanging and then added various papers and chipboard pieces. I threaded some ribbon thru the top and plan to hang this in my scrap room near my sewing machine (that collects dust).... One of my goals this year is to learn how to sew - even if it's just on my projects. And yes I photographed my project on a Christmas tree that is still up in my house. I got this rustic tree super cheap and plan to decorate it for the different holidays. And nope it's still not decorated for anything.... I might soon be putting it away in the basement until next December!

Circle Explosion MOSD style!

Hello bloggy friends! It's Amy here with today MOSD post. This month here at MOSD we are celebrating National Craft Month and creating projects that we love, using products that we love. That being Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs lovely products of course!! This month I wanted to focus on circles, just circles. This is something that I would never had attempted in the past, but once I saw this fabulous Circle Intricacy I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I filled in all the circle cut outs with patterned papers to add some more visual interest and then mounted the entire 11x11 Intricasy onto Kraft cardstock. I like that by outlining the Intricasy it allows it to 'pop' right off the bg!

The big circle is a MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Circle. It's made of chipboard and is 6in in diameter. The perfect size!! I covered it in a book page by using a Spray Adhesive and trimming off the excess paper with my Xacto knife. This has come to be one of my favorite ways to cover chipboard. Another thing that I love is the MOSD Journal bits. I used one in black by simply applying it on the green cardstock. These journal spots are fabulous. They add that special touch to your journaling (not to mention make you write in a straight line, which is always a problem for me!!)

SPRING!!!!

So today in the Chicagoland area it is going to be close to 60 degrees!!! : ) The warmest it has been since the beginning of September!! My neighbors tulips are coming up, there was a squirrel in the yard this morning, we saw geese by the 100's coming back yesterday at lunchtime, and it of course is raining! So all this spring activity had me wanting to do a spring project and of course with spring comes an important holiday to many-Easter. So I created these projects

This Layout is made with the MOSD Easter Spiritual Collection - Edger I inked the edges with My Mind's Eye ink and used a pop dot to pop one of the rocks. I used the edger as an embellishment, I cut the eggs from a piece of pattern paper and framed my picture mat with them. I added my title and its all ready for a special picture from Easter this year.

This card is made with MOSD Easter Spiritual Collection - Round 'Bout I used My Mind's Eye ink to ink the edges of the die cut and then I cut apart the transparency of words. I used an Amuse card and My Mind's Eye pattern paper to create this card.

Lego Mini Book!

My son wanted to take some photos of his new Star Wars Legos and put them in a mini book to take to school since he was chosen to bring something to school this week to share. I knew right away I would create a mini book out of MOSD's Perfectly Shaped Build A Book. My son picked MOSD's Perfectly Shaped Pudgy Rectangle page.

We covered the front and back with Scrappin' Sports & More's Blocks paper. Then added our photos. We left space for my son to write the name of each Lego set and the number of pieces in the set.

Finally we completed the book with MOSD's Spiral Rings as seen in the photos, however after the photos he changed his mind and used MOSD's Snap Rings, either way they both look GREAT! :)

Hello bloggers:)

I just can't remember the last time I sat down to papercraft JUST FOR ME, lol! Going to school full time, working part time, and teaching Frugal Scrappin' classes has really kept me away from the reason I began crafting to begin with...I LOVE to CREATE:)

With that in mind, I've decided to make myself a little "journal" to remind myself why I love this craft...I've called this little "journal" I CREATE THEREFORE I AM...now I know it's not really an original title, but since I made this album doing what I do best...use ALL different types of "scraps" to make things...I was very happy to dig into my sticker drawer and randomly add stickers (yes, I said stickers, lol) to each page as I created inspirational messages on each page, using the MOSD Clearly Designed Easel.

I love the way I will be able to stand this easel up on my scrappin' table and can easily flip through the pages to give myself the inspiration I sometimes need to get my creativity kicked into high gear.

Since using stickers is DEFINITELY NOT something I do, it was kind of fun to take myself back to simpler times in my paper crafting past when stickers were an exciting medium to use in my crafting. It was kind of nostalgic in a weird, frugal scrappin' sort of way:)

Another thing I did was leave each page clear for the most part (other than the stickers, of course)...and oh yes, a bit of paint...a girl's gotta use a bit of "grunge" doesn't she?

Anyway, I love the fact that I can see every page behind what is shown first...it adds dimension (and also displays how my mind works)...always going in a million different directions in a collage kind of way...layers on top of layers of ideas swirling around in my head...kind of makes my dizzy sometimes, lol...

Ok, ok, onto pics of the project...

This first Page says: I CREATE THEREFORE I AM

This page has a quote I love:

Here I got creative and added the word enthusiasm horizontally..the rest is easy to read:)

This one, I have to admit is harder to read on-line, but it says:

This page has "imagine" down the side and begins my line:

Imagine this is life without rules...ART!

This back page is interesting, too...since this is an easel, the first page shows through the last page, so all I actually have on this page is "HAPPY MEMORIES and DREAM big...it looks like it reads with the front cover showing the I CREATE therefore...again, though...

Cool, huh?

My boys are edgy

For those who don't know me, I am a mom of five, and FOUR of them are boys!
Needless to say, I only have a zillion boy pictures to scrap.
I decided to create a mini that will showcase some of the many random shots of my guys in action.
I started with a MOSD Acrylic Flipped Out Album, and added lots of paper and embellies from Little Yellow Bicycle.

That's when the fun started...

One of my favorite things to do is find different ways to create interest by adding details along the edges of the acrylic pages. So I broke out my black and white acrylic paints, Bic Mark It blue and black markers, and my newest discovery - a Krylon silver leafing pen. All of the supplies used are acid free, so fear not if that is a concern for you.

Sidebar about the Krylon leafing pen - this goes on beautifully and dries quickly. You use it just like a marker. The silver edges of the album work really well with the silver accents in the LYB papers. Check one out - I found mine at my LSS.

Here is some closeups of some other page details. For this one, I used a blue Bic marker to outline the edge of the page, then used a black Slick writer to add black dots for detail:

On this page I swiped black acrylic paint along the page edges. Once the paint was dry, I used my leafing pen to add more detail. This is a view of the back side of the page:

A Little Sugar

I have pictures of my two cats that have been collecting for a couple of years, just waiting to be scrapped. When I saw the compact size of this Cover 2 Cover Mini Flip album, I knew I could create something unique for those photos.

The acrylic cover got a makeover using Staz-On ink and a stencil cut from the Paw Print Intricacy. I added a title that I made with my Dymo label maker, tied on some ribbon, and added a 7 Gypsies buckle.

On the inside pages, I used up scraps of various patterned papers, all in the light aqua and black & white colors. I stapled a piece of ribbon to each page to use a tab. I tied a Tim Holtz Word Stick onto one of the rings. Now it's ready to fill with photos of my little fur-babies.

Love U Card

I wanted to use the Picto Gram Heart Stick On for my project this month in honor of Valentine's Day. I also had the good fortune to win some Shimmerz Vibez in Razzle Dazzle Berry recently and had originally planned to spray it onto the Stick On to change the color. As I often do, I changed my mind and decided to spray one of the Perfectly Shaped Scalloped Album Pages (made from chipboard) instead and left the hearts white. The white side of the album page has a little shine to it, so when I sprayed the Shimmerz spray, it continued to spread some, which I thought made a neat affect on the white. The page is actually scalloped on all four sides, but I cut off part of one side, so that it would fit on my card.

Perfectly Shaped Tabbed 'Notebook'

Hello fellow Scrappers! Amy here with today's blog post. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and have lots to scrap about. This month MOSD has been focusing on 'love' as our overall theme so I decided to create a project based around something I love....no it's not your typical object of affection, but I have a huge love for creating lists. I will create a list for everything and anything. I guess you could call it more like an obsession! Yes, it's that bad. So for my MOSD project I created a notebook for myself to keep all my lists in one place. (I am also known for loosing these precious lists I create.)

MOSD has some of the most amazing Perfectly shaped Build a Book pages imaginable. For this book I used 5 Perfectly Shaped - Tabbed pages. This gave me the exact look I was going for, and will hopefully keep me a little more organized as well! And as always I used MOSD Spiral Rings to hold the book together. I don't know if I could live without those rings!
I simply cut the tabs off in the appropriate places so the pages layered effectively. This was so easy...just used my Xacto knife and we were good to go!
I cut regular copy paper to size and added it in between the chipboard pages. Which is another reason that MOSD Spiral Rings are a plus - I can always go back and replace my paper at anytime. Love it!

Hi everyone! It's Marisa with my February MOSD project to share with you! Valentine's Day has come and gone, but love is always in the air!! The theme for my project is love and hearts! I used MOSD mini scallop perfectly shaped chipboard for this decorative piece. I love this chipboard. It is versatile and there are so many things you can do with it! For my project, I used a template to cut a heart shape out of the middle of the chipboard. Then I adhered a piece of acetate to it. I place my sentiment on another piece of mini scallop perfectly shaped chipboard and adhered both pieces together! Super simple and easy to do!

LOVE is in the Air

yes so today is the day of Love, where relationships be it friendships, or romantic ones are acknowlegded. I am fortunate to share with you all today the union of two people who have been married now for 24yrs, and I have to say that it's been a wonderful ride. Now onto my project, I am in love with the flip acrylic album. I used Pink Paislee's Cupid collection. Which is perfect with the album and our theme of Love. Just a quick note, when creating with Acrylic it's best if you used Double Sided Paper this way you can see the opposite side of the pattern on the other side.

First I would like the wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! May your day be filled with lots of love!!!

I used the "flipped out" acrylic to make my card. I cut the bottom one 6 1/2" x 5 1/4" and the top one 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I used alcohol inks cranberry and silver and then used embellies. I added my sentiment and voila!!! An original Valentine's card! I really love the alcohol inks on acrylic. It's super easy to use and the effect is stunning! TFL! :D

...be my Valentine? I just LOVE Valentine's Day! I love it SO much while dating my husband I think I told him a million times I thought it would be SO romantic to get engaged for Valentine's Day! And guess what he actually paid attention to that! I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day with your loved ones!

And in case you are still scrambling for an last minute Valentine I have a quick and easy idea for you! I made these adorable magnetic Valentines that can also double as a decoration for years to come! I started with a MOSD Perfectly Shaped Build A Book page as my base. I used K&Company Valentine pattern paper and covered the page, I also used some of the coordinating embellishments to decorate the page. I used pop dots to lift some of the items and give some dimension to my page. When I was done embellishing the page I placed a magnet on the back and now the Valentine can be hung up as a decoration as well!

Happy Birthday Card!

Happy February and Happy Birthday to ME! :)

In my extended family we have a ton (9 to be exact) between February 1st & February 15th ... so it's only fitting that I present you with a birthday card this month! :)

My birthday card features:
MOSD's Birthday Bright Collection - Edger
MOSD's Build a Book Perfectly Shaped - Mini Scallop
Build a Book Perfectly Shaped - Curly Bracket

I had so much fun playing with MOSD's Birthday Bright Collection - Edger! All of the pieces are already cut for you to piece together, however you can still make it your own like I did by adding the orange and yellow present on the left and by adding Stickles to parts of it. I also made the Edger pop off the card by adding pop dots under it.

The MOSD's Build a Book Perfectly Shaped - Mini Scallop and Build a Book Perfectly Shaped - Curly Bracket were the perfect sizes for my card. To add extra dimension, I added cardstock to the front of the Curly Bracket page, sanded the edges and layered on top of the Mini Scallop page. The ribbon, colored staples, circle rubons & letter stickers complete the card - with it's fun bright colors can be used for a boy or a girl!

Take heart... Spring IS on its way!

Are you like me... ready for warmer weather?!

I'm so ready to see some flowers... and butterflies!

I'm using MOSD's adorable little "Show Off" album

for my springy project today.

The "Show Off" album comes with

two acylic covers and 4 cardboard pages.

I love using decorative paper in these little albums

but sometimes the paper is too thin to use all by itself.

This is where the cardboard pages come in handy.

They add durability to the album.

And since you know the album is going to be

looked at and looked at and looked at,

it needs to be sturdy and durable.

I'm showing this album without pictures

because I am... yes, waiting for spring. ;-)

I can't wait to take photos of my kids

and get them in this adorable album.

The simplicity of my album

Good-bye My Valentines!

It is with a sad heart that I come to you today. I have made the very hard decision to step down from the MOD Squad and this is my last post to the blog. So, it is very fitting that I end with a "love note" to all of you!

I have been with MOSD for 2 years - 2 very fun and fantastic years. I have made some awesome projects, met some amazing ladies, and had some mod fun! I will miss working with these fabbie products and miss showing you what I've created, but know that the time has come for me to move on. May each of you have a spectacular year and a sweet Valentine's Day!

Now, on to my final project:

I used a 6x8 page from a Gate Fold album as my base for this wall decor. I edged it with pink paint and sparkly fluff, then attached a piece of Basic Grey paper. Then I added a scallop page from the Build-a-Book set, which I also covered with BG paper.

I used white Stick-Ons letters and numbers to spell out "February 14" and attached some chipboard embellies and a vellum quote to add a bit of romance. The flowers are covered with glitter and bling, perfect for Valentine's Day!

In Love with MOSD

How about some "love" to keep you warm through the winter? I know it's still January, but you have to start early if you want to get those Valentine's projects completed. Today I have a little Valentine decoration to share.

I started with a Perfectly Shaped Circle Scallop from MOSD as the base. The scalloped edge gives another layer of "ruffle" to my project, and the chipboard provides a sturdy base for all the layers.

Now that I have all the layers in place, I can make this a hanging by adding a ribbon hanger at the top, make a few more and create a banner, or attach it to a card base and my decoration becomes a romantic card - reminiscent of those elaborate and gorgeous Valentines our grandparents used to give and receive.

1-2-3 Intricacy Paper - Teacher Card

One of my scrappy goals in 2010 is to start using my tools! I used my Cuttlebug and a dots embossing template on the 1-2-3 Intricacy paper. The Cuttlebug is actually one of my newer tools, although it has still rarely made it's way out of the box. I love to use the Intricacy papers for cards, because you can cut off a piece and still have plenty to use on your next projects. My piece was a little large for one pass thru the Cuttlebug, so on the second pass, I just scooted the paper over a bit and lined it up with the dots that were already embossed onto the paper and ran it thru again, super easy!

Trouble Edger Project

Hello Everyone-

I wanted to share with all of you my project using the MOSD The Toddle Boy Collections Trouble Edger, featuring trains, planes and automobiles. It was a fun project to paper piece together and it came with the fun overlay. I used a stapler to hold the overlay in place and the papers are Basic Grey. Enjoy!

Stick-On that LO :)

Hello Beautiful People! Amy here with today's blog post. I am so excited to share with you today, for I went back to my roots per say and created a LO! I absolutely love how MOSD products work for all types of paper crafting, no matter where your passion lies!

To create this frame I used a MOSD Perfectly Shaped - Mega Scallop. I cut a square out of the center to create a frame for my journaling and painted the Mega Scallop with black acrylic paint.
To finish off the frame I painted the edges with a white paint pen and added my little dashes with a white pen! Very easy and adds such a focal point for my journaling! Love it!!

Here you can see the awesome MOSD Twirly Gigs - Elegante that I used. I just love Twirly Gigs, they are so fun and add that special touch to any project. And not to mention they come in 15 amazing colors! I outlined my white Twirly Gig with a black pen to make it 'pop' off the background.

Look at the center of the flower. Aren't those circles just the coolest?! Those are from the MOSD Cover Up - Flower Garden stick on sheet! I used one of the flowers and cut the top off and used it for the center of this flower.

This is the bottom stem of the flower I cut from the MOSD Cover Up - Flower Garden. It looks so cute as a little vine. When I was using these MOSD Stick-Ons I loved how easy they were to position. All Stick-Ons come with a see threw transfer sheet that allows you to position your stick on perfectly on your project. Another major plus about stick-ons is that they don't leave a film around the edges like most rub-ons do! These babies are just awesome!

An Acrylic Jungle

Hi everyone!! It is Friday!! I hope everyone is having a great start to this brand new year! :) Today I have a jungle themed album using the MOSD Clearly Designed Easel. This album is awesome! It is very interactive...which I loooove!! You can have two different albums or just one album using this product. I have been going through all of the pictures I have of my kids. I have baby pictures that have not been scrapped or put into albums. So I decided to take some of my kids baby pictures and put it into this album. This is one of my resolutions for this year. I want to get all of my kids pictures into albums!!! I am determined!!

The MOSD Clearly Designed Easel comes with 3 plastic binding rings, 2 acrylic 5x7 pages which you use to make the album stand up. There is a small hole at the bottom of these two pieces where you run a piece of ribbon through it to ensure that it stands. The inside pages for this album are 4x6 acrylic pages and you get 4 of those. This is such a super cute product!! My easel album is going on my desk!!

Keep it Simple Sister {KISS}

I love creating layouts with loads of embellishments, but sometimes I just have to create something simple yet still recognizable as my art. Most of us have scraps laying around from either previous projects or current projects. Well I decided when using my cricut to cut out hearts that I would not discard the paper with the cutouts as I normally do. Here is what I did I cut them into and organized them in a quilt like fashion on my layout. To add a little pizzazz I added MOSD heart stick Ons I just love these embellishments. Of course my layout still has to say me, so I added pearls just give it a little more pizzazz. Keep it simple sisters.

Winter Organization!!

So with all this frigid weather do you be finding yourself constantly searching for that missing mitten or hat? Or do you hear 10 times "mom what do I need to wear?"! Well I have the answer for you! A quick and easy accessory organizer! For this project you will need ribbon, a MOSD acrylic easel album cover, MOSD Intricacies, a MOSD perfectly shaped scallop spinner, film slides, adhesive, stickles, letters and pattern paper.

I used the intricacy as the background, covered the spinner with the pattern paper cut it out with a craft knife and sanded the edges. I used a circle punch to cut a circle of cardstock and cut a snowman to match the accessories needed wear ie. hat only, hat and mittens, hat-mittens-scarf-boots, ect.. I attached these circles around the spinner so now I can just turn the spinner to the correct snowman and my boys can easily get dressed properly without having to ask me a million times what they need. And to further simplify the winter mess I have hung ribbon and attached film slides labeled with what should hang there. Just add clothes pins or binder clips and hand the accessories in their proper spot! I added stickles and some letters stickers to embellish the sign and there you have a quick organizer! I used a 3M removable hook and hung this inside my closet door!

Now go grab your supplies and simplify your winter accessoies too!

Debbie here with today's blog post.
In keeping with all the wintery weather here, I decided to make a mini of my little guy sledding.

I started with a MOSD Cover 2 Cover Mini Flip album.
To achieve the frosty look on the acrylic covers, I used StazOn opaque white ink. Once dry, I added Rock Candy Stickles. Looks like a frosty window, right?
Then I covered the chipboard pages with a variety of Basic Grey winter themed papers, and voila!

Warm Winter Wishes

For my project this month I used two perfectly shaped mini scallop build a book pages and two perfectly shaped pudgy rectangle build a book pages.
First I ran all four pages through my Sizzix Big Kick to emboss them with my Cuddlebug snowflake embossing folder.

Then I overlapped the two perfectly shaped mini scallop build a book pages to my desired length.
Then I changed my mind about the embossed perfectly shaped pudgy rectangle build a book pages and covered them with paper and inked the edges so they would pop off the perfectly shaped mini scallop build a book pages background.

While these pages were drying, I die cut snowflakes and a snowman. I used Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint on the snowman and then randomly sprinkled Magic Scraps Glitter on the snowflakes, snowman and background - of course once I started I couldn't stop and the glitter took over! :) Arrange snowman, snowflakes and letter stickers as desired.

Finally, punch holes at the top and add ribbon!

Christmas decorations are being taken down as I type.

We had such a fun New Year's Celebration

that I really want to scrapbook the fun event!

And what a perfect reason to use the

numbers "10" and "20" away from the sheet.

Together, these trimmed numbers make a perfect

New Year's title for my page.

As you can see, I also used

These aren't your everyday stickers!

because they don't leave a film edge around the image

and they are much easier to apply... just peel and stick!

Kwanzaa is neither political nor religious and despite some misconceptions, is not a substitute for Christmas. Here is my project using the Midnight Oil Perfectly Shaped Build A Book shaped chipboard and a Clearly Designed Show Off panel for the front cover--

Kwanzaa is based on the Nguzo Saba (seven guiding principles), one for each day of the observance, and is celebrated from December 26th to January 1st.

Umoja (oo-MO-jah) Unity stresses the importance of togetherness for the family and the community, which is reflected in the African saying, "I am We," or "I am because We are."

Ujima (oo-GEE-mah) Collective Work and Responsibility reminds us of our obligation to the past, present and future, and that we have a role to play in the community, society, and world.

Ujamaa (oo-JAH-mah) Cooperative economics emphasizes our collective economic strength and encourages us to meet common needs through mutual support.

Nia (NEE-yah) Purpose encourages us to look within ourselves and to set personal goals that are beneficial to the community.

Family Traditions:)

Hello MOSD bloggers:)

I can't believe another Christmas is already behind us. I am so blessed with love and happiness all around me, and it only gets better when I am able to celebrate family traditions....some old, and some new...but all just WONDERFUL:)

Another tradition is cookie baking...now for those that know me, I'm definitely NOT a domestic diva, so when it came to cookie making this year, I decided to do it the "easy" way...(you know, those refrigerator cookie bags with the cute "dough boy"?)...well that's how we started. I made a few batches of cookies with my grandsons, Dominic and Shane. We had a great time and didn't burn a SINGLE cookie!!!!! Now that is definitely a bonus for me:)

Our visit to Santa this year was quite fun. We were concerned about how my youngest grandson, Alex would respond to Santa, but were quite surprised when it was "tough little guy" Shane who wanted no parts of Santa.

Gift giving/receiving time is always great, and we were so glad that Dominic was so happy with his new Leapster game. Whoo hoo:) Shane also loved his new helmet...did I tell you that at 1 1/2, he LOVES to skateboard????? No worries...they do make skateboards especially for his age...the wheels are pretty stiff and don't move quickly at all...whew!

We had to take a pic of the Christmas tree....that spent more time on the ground due to Shane's curiosity, lol.

Living here in southern California for almost 5 years now (originally from Philadelphia), we still revel in the fact that we can wear short sleeves to the beach at Christmastime. One of our "newer" traditions is to try to get family pictures taken at the beach during the holidays. Since I was making this mini album for my son and his family, I was very happy to get some really cute photos of them.

Now for the good part...the supplies used for this album:)

--I started with a MOSD flip album. I love the way each page opens alternately from one side to the other.

--On the cover, I used an overlay with music notes and snowflakes to add dimension. I also used a swirl stamp with blazing red staz on ink to cover the album covers. I attached a leather and metal fastner to "lock" the book.
--I used papers and embellishments fromt he BoBunny 'Tis The Season line. I added a little bling, some paint and chipboard letters...oh yes...the chipboard letters all started out as orange...I just peeled off the top layer and painted them with various paint dabbers.

--The last thing I added was some stick-on swirls in black. I just LOVE stick-ons!

--I put the book together using my bind-it-all and voila...a really cute holiday traditions album:)

Christmas Traditions Mini Album

Merry Christmas, Bloggers! It's Gloria with you on Christmas Day! (Well, I typed this on the 23rd...but still...) Since moving to southern California, our traditions have changed a little, due to the climate, but we still have many of the same ones we had when we lived back east and in the upper Midwest. I made this little album so that I could document some of the things we enjoy doing during the Christmas season. You'll notice there are no photos in it yet...but I plan to use photos from 2009, so I've not taken them all yet!

I used pages from the MOSD Build-a-Book set: 3 clear squares, 2 large scallop, 2 half circle, 1 chipboard square. I used a mix of papers and products for this album. Lots of glitter and buttons and flowers. Take a peek!

Here is the cover. I painted the edges of all the clear pages with acrylic paint and Stickles. I attached a piece of double sided paper to the clear cover using Xyron adhesive.

I bound the album with the Bind-it-All and tied on lots of festive ribbons. I still have to add the photos and journaling, and maybe some titles. But I am notorious for making these mini albums, then waiting a long time to finish them!

Recycling with MOSD

What a busy month! If you're like most people, you've spent the last few weeks shopping, baking, visiting, decorating, and hopefully crafting! With just a couple of days left, I'd like to share a quick and easy gift bag that took minutes to put together, and I had to buy nothing to make it!

I started with a plain brown shopping bag. The best part is I didn't even buy a craft gift bag - I reused a bag from one of my shopping excursions. Most of these gift store bags may have a design printed on one side. That's OK - you're going to cover it up anyway.

I didn't want to use the twisted paper handles that the bag came with, so I just cut off the top of the bag. I cut a piece of 8x8 paper down to fit the width of the bag, and then cut a strip to adhere across the top. I punched the edge of this strip with a border punch for added style. I adhered both of these papers to the bag. Next, I adhered patterned paper to the MOSD chipboard Postage Stamp Build A Book page, which becomes the focal point and matt for the sentiment. On top of the covered chipboard page, I added a torn piece of sheet music, and then a chipboard frame with sentiment.

To replace the handles that I removed, I cut holes in the top with my Crop A Dile and then knotted a length of ribbon through each hole. Now I have pretty handles that match my bag.

You could make these bags as simple or as elaborate as your time allows. The MOSD chipboard pages add another shape to the bag, and some dimension to help your design stand out.

I hope you have a merry, festive, and peaceful Christmas. We'll be celebrating at home, thankful for all the blessings we've had this year.

Let It Snow...and snow...and snow....

Snow is everywhere! Earlier this month in the Midwest we had way more than we needed and now it has hit the East Coast just as hard. Here are a couple Let It Snow Ornaments I made using pieces of the Show Off Mini Album. I sprayed each piece with Tattered Angels Marshmallow Glimmer Mist, punched holes with my Cropodile at the top and added stickers, snowflakes and felt ribbon. The snowflakes and stickers came with the glitter on them and these were a very quick and easy project. What takes the longest is waiting for the Glimmer Mist to dry.

I hope that everyone is staying warm and is getting their holiday shopping and baking done. I finally got my shopping finished, now I just need to start wrapping!

Decorating with Intricasies

Hello lovelies! It's Amy here to share with you today. Here on the MOSD blog we are celebrating the Holidays and we are doing it up in style using the fabulous MOSD products.

I have a very quick and easy project to show you. Something that you can throw together for those last minute decorations or even give as gifts. I created candle shades using MOSD Stars Intricasy. These Intricasies come in 4 amazing colors or you can even request a special color if you so wish! They are 11" x 11" - Just the perfect size!! For these candle shades I used one Intricasy cut in half then painted it red & silver and then added glitter. It was that easy!! I made these candle shades so they are removable. That way I can change them out for the Seasons. I am already planning my Valentines covers using the MOSD Hearts Intricasy. They are so adorable!

One thing that I love about using Intricasies for these shades is what they look like when the candles are lit and the lights are out. They create pretty little shadows on your walls. That just makes me smile!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all are having a great holiday season so far!! I just can't believe how fast this month is going by!! Christmas is exactly 10 days away!!! I am super excited for the projects that I have for you today! I hope it will give you some ideas and inspire all of your crafty holiday projects!!! There is plenty of inspiration on this blog. My fellow design team members are very talented and creative!! Makesure to visit often for some awesome ideas!!

For this month I decided to create a holiday card and tags/ornaments. First is the holiday card that I created with two pieces of MOSD Perfectly Shaped chipboard in the Scalloped Circle shape. The card swings open to either side.The next two items I have for you can be both a gift tag or an ornament. I created these using the MOSD Clearly Designed Acrylic Take Along album. This album is 3x4 in size. The pieces are perfect for ornaments and gift tags. The adhesive that I used and it worked perfectly with the acrylic is Glossy Accents by Ranger Industries. It doesn't even show! I used white acrylic paint to "ink" the edges, because I wanted a snowy effect. I attached a bell and some cranberries to embellish them.

EssenseVibez in the houzzzeeeeee!!!-Coming to you with my project for the month of November {late post, sorry}--first let me say, I got this idea from someone in my Google reader and forgot to write her name down---so if anyone knows who I’m talking about, let me know so I can give her the credit for this fun idea—

okay back to my project--let me ask you a question—-to those of you who go to serious crops or have your personal crops—do you get tired of lugging your huge stamp binder???--you know the one’s you know you’re not going to use?—plus it’s taking up a bunch of space when you can have something else in that spot--
CHECK THIS OUT!

This is my handy dandy MOSD stamp holder—to make my cover, I took 4 panels from the CLEARLY DESIGNED EASEL package and used some warped line rub-ons at the bottom and letter rub-ons to make the word STAMPS—Now, something I did a lil’ different this time with my minibook--I used some KARLA DUDLEY DIGITAL PRODUCTS {papers} and I adhered my circle then added a circle tag with an exclamation point on top for my excitement!—

I used some PERFECT PEARLS POWDER mist to make my splatters on the page underneath the front acrylic page and on the back of the cover—Cut some beautiful olive green card-stock {or you can use some decorative patterned paper} to back up the acrylic pages--

Then I placed my clear stamps on the acrylic pages and viola!--I can take only the stamps I know I'm going to use on my project at the crop--

Look simple enough huh? ---trust me; it was easy peesy to make!

Wow, I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone again! Where has this year gone? Well, I had a WONDERFUL visit with my children and grandchildren for the last week...and now I'm relaxing from all the excitement. We went for walks on the beach, bike rides, more walks on the beach, and more bike rides:) What a blast we had!

I thought it would be very appropriate to use this time to make a Thankful for...book:)

I started with an MOSD step acrylic book. I took it apart and used a few of the pages mixed with a decorative acrylic sheet that I cut apart along with some MOSD flowers and stick-ons. I also used one of the MOSD chipboard pages from my MOSD stash.

One of my new favorite things to do is to take paper scraps (or acrylic scraps) and attach card stock off the edge that become mats for photos. This is a great way to use some of those strips you end up with after matting photos or trimming down for mini books.

I used some stick-ons on this page. There is a close up of this page below with further information.

I was also excited to find I had a TON of rub-ons in my stash that matched the fall colors of teal and brown that I used for this album...it also helped that my grand kids dressed in similar colors. Whoo hoo, I LOVE IT when a PLAN comes together:)

You may notice that on this page, my stick-ons are teal...my secret "potion" is to use alcohol inks on them. Before they are even picked up from the page, I used alcohol ink on some white stick-ons, then "picked them up" with the sticky backing. I was thrilled to see that the sticky backing did NOT lift off the alcohol ink. It was also great to see that because I used these on acrylic, I could still see the white side of the stick-on on the other side of the acrylic page.

The other really cool effect was the chandelier stamp. I first stamped with timber brown staz on ink. Then I went over it using a snow cap paint dabber. I loved the "texture" this gave the chandelier.

Gloria's Christmas Countdown

Hey folks! It's Gloria with you today! It seems a long time since I was here! I hope you are enjoying all the projects by the rest of the DT! I've seen some fabbie things posted recently!

Today, I have a Christmas Countdown Wall Hanging to show you. I had such great response to my Halloween wall decor, that I wanted to make one in a Christmas theme. These are fun and easy to make! The one for today is made from the acrylic cover of a Big Boy album, which is 6x12. (If you click on the photos you can see a larger image.)

I made this so that you can use the numbers for an Advent calendar, as a Christmas countdown, or simply to show each date in December! The left number set has zero through 3 and the right set has zero through 9. But you could make them in any combo you like. I used the MOSD Cute Petite album (plus some extra pages I cut from scrap chipboard) for the numbers. They measure 2x2. And I used MOSD Stick-On numbers for each small square. I hung the number squares from the acrylic panel with MOSD clear binding rings.

I started out by painting the edges of the Big Boy cover with white acrylic paint (Ranger paint dabber). Then I cut a piece of Dream Street printed paper to 5.5x11.5 for the background. I decorated the background with more Dream Street papers, MOSD letter Stick-Ons (in white, to spell "December"), and I printed out a calendar, which I added to the background.

I used the Dahlia Spellbinders dies to cut the flower accent and some EK Success snow flake punches to add some snowflake accents. The border is punched with the Martha Stewart doily punch. There is also some bling scattered about in the form of rhinestones.

That yummy ribbon is Stampin' Up. You get a ton of ribbon on the rolls so it's a GREAT value! Once I had the whole background assembled, I attached it to the clear acrylic cover, then punched holes into the acrylic and added white eyelets. I did that so I could hang my numbers and my ribbon. It just gives it a finished look. I used the Crop-a-Dile to punch through the acrylic cover and the chipboard squares.

I also used some white ink to edge each number square, just to make them pop. You can make these wall hangings in any color scheme or style. They make a fantastic accent for a wall in your home or in your office at work.

10 Things... I Can't Live Without

My 10 Things project is a teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, Cover 2 Cover Petite album that I created with the theme "10 Things I Can't Live Without." I needed a few more pages for the album, so I simply cut some from cardstock and punched a hole to thread onto the ball chain closure.

For the cover, I glued some sewing pattern paper to the backside and added brown Staz On ink to give it a grungy look. I used number rub-ons from 7 Gypsies and mini alphas from My Little Shoebox to create a unique title. I wanted this little album to pack in as much design as possible! I layered on some old sheet music pieces and tied on various ribbons, fiber, and lace. The patterned paper used inside the book is from Daisy D's - I've been hoarding it waiting for the perfect project.

Now onto my 10 Things. I chose a more "cheeky" take on what I can't live without. Of course I have the essentials - my husband, my cats - but the rest are all the little things that make my life better. How appropriate to use the littlest album for all those little things.

To alter the book's chipboard pages, I used a gold paint dabber and tarnished brass Distress Crackle Paint. To size my photos down to 1.5 inches, I simply inserted them into a Word document on my computer, resized the image, then printed the Word document containing all the images.

Star Intracacy Die Cut Papers

My husband's birthday is on Monday and I'm giving you a peek at part of his birthday present. He doesn't surf the scrap sites, so I should be safe :-) This is a picture of my husband with our two kids, taken a couple years ago. I wish he'd been smiling!! I used the Star Intracacy Die Cut Paper in white. It measures 11x11 so it was easy to place it on a 12x12 piece of patterned paper and not have to trim. I used rubons to spell out 10 things that make their dad a superstar. I plan to get this framed so he can hang it up at work.

How About A Story Book!

Yes - with MOSD products you can make your own storybook! Well, that and in this case, a little help from my friends in the digital world! I will tell you it was VERY EASY.

I used Lorie Davison's A VERY BUSY DAY CHILDREN'S BOOK kit. This is a story written by Stephanie Ralla Salanova and uses Lorie's Digital Graphics. It's actually a kit of Quick Pages. This really means that 90% of the work is done for you! The words are separate...you add the words and your photos to the pages and you have a customized, personalized story book that your child will treasure for a LONG time!

So here we go...

I have used the MOSD 8x8 Acrylic Covers and Chipboard Pages. This will give the book both protection and stability. I joined the pages and covers with "C" Rings (which can be found at your local office supply store) and decorated with ribbons.

These are a few of the pages you will be able to create using this kit - again, they are Quick Pages. Just drag the words (which are also available in a French version) onto your page and add your own photos!

I did, however, create my own back cover using Lorie's DON'T EAT THE WORMS preview kit. I believe this was a freebie on the Scrapbook Graphics Studio Matters blog. Because I didn't use the title page included in the kit - my back cover would have been blank chipboard. So instead, I created a back cover using Don't Eat the Worms and personalized it for my son with the all the credits as well as a dedication at the bottom.

I hope you enjoy these story books and make one of your own! Obviously you can grab a kit like I did, or you can scrap it with paper in your own way, with your own story! Or even tell your child THEIR story - whatever it may be.

Again, I used the 8x8 Coverset and chipboard pages, however, I also printed out several of these pages at 6x6 in size and they were still easy to read - so if you prefer a 6x6 version, MOSD does also offer you the 6x6 option. If you are not doing it with a premade digital kit like I did, any size MOSD album would work to tell your child a story!

Hello beautiful people, it's Amy! I am back this month to share with you an album I created. This Album is very special to me and I will tell you why! A few of the ladies on the MOSD DT have decided to focus on a '10 things' theme this month. I was trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with this theme and was talking it over with my husband on the phone one evening. We went over several ideas and in the end I was still undecided. The next morning I woke up to an email from the DH titled '10 things I love about Amy'.... I was so over the moon at his thoughtfulness and decided that his list would become the subject for this month's project!

So here it is, my album, 10 things he loves About Me:

The base of the album is the MOSD Expression Wordbook and Ali sent us these wonderful letter Stick ons to go on the edges. I absolutely LOVE how they give the letters such definition! The very front page of the album I actually used an Acrylic page from the Clearly Designed - Show Off album. Adding MOSD acrylic pages to albums is the perfect way to add that extra little special 'something'!

When I was adding the papers to the chipboard pages I used a spray-on adhesive. This works perfectly and gives a nice even coverage. Then simply use a sharp xacto knife and trim around the edges! Easy-Peasy!!

We are silly and completely odd, but after 12 years we are each others life.

MOSD Stick Ons - Twirly Gigs have a special place in my heart. They are just beautiful and I can't get enough of them. On this page I used them in white, but they come in a multitude of different colors that suit just about any ones Paper crafting needs!

He thinks it's cheesy, but the man supports me 100%! Hobbies are a good thing!

Oh, and one of the most amazing MOSD products EVER are the Spiral Rings. On this album I used them in brown. If I am creating an album of any kind I guarantee you that I am using these amazing rings. They are simple to use and made of sturdy plastic and come in 6 fantastic colors!

Another thing that I love to do when creating anything is to up-cycle or recycle items. On this Album I reused the center punch out that came out of the star divider page. By simply turning the star and tacking it down I not only added dimension to the page but also saved it from going to Scrapbook heaven!

Speaking of using things. This entire album is embellished with product that I have had around forever! Like these rub-ons. They are leftovers from a multitude of packs. So when you have so many rub-ons just laying around try using them up and create a background out of them!

Kids are the sweetest when they sleep, that's why I love to watch them. No matter how rotten they are during the day when you watch a child sleep they are all little angels :-)

What he doesn't realize is that I absolutely adore his hobbies!

On this last page I added this little envelope. I just adore little hiding places. It's where I put a copy of his email that I created this entire album about. Thank you MOSD for bringing out the softer side of my husband :-)

Fall Mini Album

Hi Everyone!!! It's November and it's time to enjoy the autumn leaves, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin patches!!! I just can't believe the holidays are already here! This year has flown by so quickly! I am happy to be here this month with my November project. This month I decided to create a Fall Mini Album using the Perfectly Shaped Build a Book pages. I know that I will be taking a lot of pictures this month because of Thanksgiving and all the other Fall activities that my family does.

The Perfectly Shaped Build a Book pages can be found HERE. The shapes I used for my mini album are the Square, the Mega Sawtooth, and the skinny Rectangle. These pages are very easy to create with. I used several different types of ink, paint, and paper to embellish these. MOSD has many different shapes that are available, so don't forget to check out the MOSD website for awesome products for all of your creative projects!!

The chipboard comes in many shapes and sizes and I love how it can make a page come alive. I used one of the shapes and cut my PP and then distressed the edges. You can reuse them to cut them out or you can use it with the PP as I did. I wanted my photo to pop a bit so it added dimension. TFL

Its Begining To Look...

...like Christmas everywhere! Can you believe how quickly they start the Christmas season?! On November 1st there was Christmas music playing in the stores, Christmas commercials on TV and Pre-Black Friday sales beginning in stores! All this Christmas hype gets me feeling like I am behind already! So I plan to take time this year and enjoy the holiday season and I want to remember how we spent this BUSY time of year! To help me I am planning to do a 25 days of December mini book this year. I have the pages covered in pattern paper and numbered so when December starts I just need to take my pictures each day and then put them in and journal about our day.

To create my fun little book I of course turned to the AWESOME Midnight Oil products! My pages are an assortment of of the various shapes of the Perfectly Shaped Pages and my covers are the Perfectly Shaped Covers. I have 25 pages in my book for a total of 50 pages allowing me LOTS of room to capture my memories, but with the spiral rings I can always add or take away pages as I go along! Here is the start of my book and be sure to follow my blog during the month of December to see how it all comes together!

Well I hope you may have been inspired to create a book of your own and be able to reflect on all the fun memories that you have during the month of December!

One of my favorite types of mini albums to work with is MOSD's Cover 2 Cover mini albums. Cover 2 Covers have chipboard pages and acrylic covers.
My project today features the Show Off album. I added a couple of extra chipboard pages to the four it comes with.
I chose to create an album featuring Words to Live By. Here is the concept behind my mini:
I chose 10 words that have a powerful impact to me and built my book around it. I used a variety of vintage looking products to create a collage of quotes and thoughts for each word. Here is a peek of some of the pages:

Expressions Word Books

MOSD's Expression Word Books are so much fun! You can have them custom made in a variety of lengths with plain letters or new scalloped edges!

First lay out your letters how you want them to sit, trim as necessary.

Decide if you want to cover your letters with papers, with photos or a combo of both. Add the adhesive to the top of the letter & put your paper or photo on top. Trim with an Xacto knife (I sanded the edges to help hide any trimming imperfections :) ).

I punched holes in the chipboard letters with my crop-a-dile and used Spiral Rings to hold the book together and added some fun baseball ribbon!

Tiny Baby/Tiny Book... Baby Book

I love all the fall projects we see this time of year.

They are filled with such lovely earthy colors!

But as life would have it,

a little miracle of pink or blue will pop up

amongst the array of earthtones.

Isn't that awesome of God?!

I so appreciate how His creativity is most colorful!

We had little "Emma" bless our lives last month

and I want to give her mom a little something

that is ALL GIRL

since she already has two boys that are more than all boy!

I created this little mini book from the center part of a

Perfectly Shaped Mini Scallop piece by MOSD.

I simply cut the outer parts of the piece away

which gave me a 3x(nearly)6" cover for my mini album.

My inside pages are 3x6.

I left them all this size so a teeny part of

each page would show when the book is closed.

I used my Cropadile to punch holes in the binding

and threaded ribbon through before tying with a knot.

The book stays closed with another piece of ribbon

which is secured under pieces of card stock

layered within the inside of the front and back covers.

EssenseVibez in the housssssee!--and yes, it's my turn again to present a spooktacular project for you to enjoy--this minibook was designed for those who like to send grandparents or favorite Aunties Halloween/pumpkin patch photos---

I used various Midnight Oil Perfectly Shaped chipboard pieces to build this book---I used patterned paper on one side of the chipboard and painted on the opposite sides of the pieces--Added cute lil' embellies with foam dots--Then added pictures and tied twine around the pieces and to hold the book together--

Awesome Sisters Mini Album

I had so much fun making this mini album that I want to give my sister as a gift. We don't see each other nearly as much as I'd like (you know, east coast-west coast living...). I can't wait to find the perfect pictures to complete the album. I used various sizes of the awesome chipboard shapes from MOSD. For the cover, I cut one in half so I could use it as an "open door" into the album.

I have displayed a few of the pages as the mini book opens. All in all, in addition to my cover, I used two 4 x 6 pages, one page with a scalloped edge, a page with a curved edge (kind of a "D" shape) and a 6 x 6 page for the back cover.

I was also happy to use some of my "stash" to decorate the book. I used various patterned papers I've had for a while, some Basic Grey Rub-ons, and some ribbon and flowers from my MOSD products. The "door knobs" on the front cover are from the dollar store. I believe they are supposed to be for jewelry making. I popped some small buttons on the front cover and covered them with the decorative metal pieces to make my "door knobs".

Oh yes, I also used one of the "clearly stated" quotes from my MOSD products, too.

MOSD Meets Grunge...

Grunge board and grunge paper that is! I love Tim Holtz inks and grungeboard and other goodies. I just found out that there is now something called grunge paper, which is thinner than grunge board and I can cut it with punches and Spellbinders Nesties! So I went on a search to see how people were using it and got some fabbie ideas from the Studio 490 blog. I rolled all of this "research" into this one project!

I have been wanting to make this perpetual birthday list for a while now. I found the sheets for the inside online at some point in time - don't ask me where as I cannot remember! I had printed them and was just waiting for inspiration to strike! It finally did! Check it out!

I used the clear cover of a Long Haul album - which is 4x9 inches. Then I cut a chipboard sheet from a Big Boy album down to 4x9 to be my back cover. I lined up the holes for everything and punched all the layers with my Crop-a-Dile.

I used some Bo Bunny papers for the covers. For the front cover, I cut the paper a bit smaller than the acrylic so you can see the acrylic edge. Then I distressed the edges of the paper for that "grunge" feel. The title is something I printed on the computer. Then I cut it out with Spellbinder circles and inked it with some distress ink.

All of the flowers are grunge paper cut with Nesties or Sizzix dies, then inked with distress ink and over stamped with background stamps and Staz-On ink. The flourish is grunge board, also inked and stamped.

I added some vintage and sparkly brads and jewels for some pizazz. Inside the book are 12 sheets, one for each month. Here is the June sheet. There is a space to write names for each day of the month - to record birthdays. This is handy to sit on your desk or on a shelf. No more missed birthdays!

Ink: Distress ink (spiced marmalade, dried marigold, shabby shutters, peeled paint, fired brick, worn lipstick), Staz-On (jet black)

Tricks and Treats

I am loving the holiday theme on the MOSD blog this month! I created this Halloween wall hanging using the largest and the smallest pages from the Clearly Designed Steps acrylic book. I secured the two pages together with ribbon scraps, which I tied through the existing holes.

For the top section, the smallest acrylic page was altered with crackle paint and brown Staz On ink. I stamped the spider web using black Staz On ink, adhered vintage paper to the back, and added the spooky house cut out and sparkly bat.

On the bottom section, I layered patterned paper to the underside of the acrylic page and added glittered stickers on the front.

The focus of the hanging is the Trick or Treat spinner. I created this using a spinner template from MOSD, which I covered in patterned paper and added embellishments and a Tim Holtz game spinner to the center.

Dangling from the bottom of the entire hanging is a rosette that I made with a vintage-style cat ornament (purchased from ebay), a couple of black and orange buttons, and a black flower. I just couldn't stop embellishing! Overall, the entire hanging is about 2 feet in length.

Hello Everyone! It's Naureen with a fun Thanksgiving project. Well Thanksgiving is approaching quickly and I am starting to get organized, because I have lots of family coming to town. One of the things I love to do for my family is make place cards for the table. Usually I try to make some sort of turkey and this year I made a cute and fun turkey using the MOSD shaped cardstock pages. This was a really fun and easy project to do. This turkey is my prototype per say, but I hope to make a few more using some of the other shaped pages.

I usually don't measure when doing projects but here are some briefy directiosn to help you create your own turkey.

Supplies:

MOSD Shaped Cardstock Pages (Scallop)

5 Sheets of Fall Colored Cardstock

Brown Paint

Glimmer Mist

Brown Ink

Circle Cutter

Scissors

Rhinestones

Adhesive

Directions:

First you need to pain the scalloped cardstock brown and spray with Glimmer Mist.

After the Glimmer Mist has tried, fold the scallop in half.

Cut the turkey's body using a circle cutter. The body is 3 1/2 inches and the head is 1 1/2 inches. Ink the edges.

For the feathers cut 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch squares. Flod in half and freehand cut the feather shape. Ink the edges and the fold.

Glue the circles to the scallop one on top of the other.

Glue the feathers behind the circles.

To clean up the back and make it look neat, I cut another circle and place it over the feathers in the back of the turkey.

Glue on rhinestones for the eyes.

Cut a small heart for the mouth.

You may write your names on or die cut the letters.

Quick and Easy Halloween Card

Every year October seems to be one of the craziest months of the year for our family. Soccer and football are wrapping up, my son turned 9 on the 19th (Happy Birthday Parker!) and there are Halloween activities galore in our town. In honor of that, I made this quick and easy Halloween card. Any busy Mom (or Dad) can easily whip this up between supper dishes and soccer practice :-)

I started with two chipboard pieces from the Perfectly Shaped Concave Build-A-Book Set. I used my Scor-It to create a crease on both pieces and added glittered brads 1/2 inch apart on the card edge to create the card base. I cut a piece of patterned Halloween paper slightly smaller than the card shape and adhered. A fuzzy Boo Halloween sticker, a bling ghost and one more glittered brad complete the card. Super easy!

Build a Book Boo House

Halloween- it's one of my favorite times of the year. All the cute little kids dressed up trying their darndest to be spooky! Oh, and the decorations!! We try our hardest every year to decorate our house spooky and we fail every year. I guess I am one of those that lean more towards the cute side of Halloween as opposed to the spooky side. For my MOSD project this month I started out building a "spook" house. Needless to say it ended up being a 'boo' house, and I am happy with that!!

The entire house was made up of MOSD perfectly shaped build a book shapes! I used 2 home plate shapes, 6 square shapes, and 4 skinny rectangle shapes and built myself a house! I also used the leftover acrylic pages from the Clearly Designed Flipped Out Acrylic Album from my project last month for the windows!

You wouldn't believe how easy it is to cut down those acrylic pages to any size you want! I just used a pair of sturdy scissors and it cut right through! I love how durable the acrylic is as well as versatile!

These Chipboard build a book perfectly shaped pages are just wonderful! The possibilities are truly endless as what you could do with them! I mean serioulsy...I just built a house!! And it's amazing how sturdy this little house is!

This year I started out small with the Boo house so that each year I can add just a little bit to it! I think that will add a little fun to the project!

Happy Birthday Charlotte's Web!

Hi everyone! It is October and Fall is in the air!! I'm happy to be back with another awesome project using all of the great MOSD products!

My project reflects the theme of Obscure Holidays that some of us did for the month of October. One of the obscure holidays that falls on the 15th is Charlotte's Web Birthday 1952. There are about five other holidays, but I chose this one because October is the month for Halloween too.

To celebrate this holiday I created a birthday card. It's an interactive birthday card using all of these great MOSD products. For the base of the card I used one of the Perfectly Shaped Chipboard Shapes. I chose this shape because it looked like a spider web. I covered it with spider web patterned paper and then I glued a piece of peach cardstock to the middle of the card. I placed the sentiment on the cardstock. Next I took a piece of Clearly Designed Acrylic and placed that on top of the cardstock. I adhered the acrylic piece with a single orange eyelet. Then I glued a big flower to the middle of the acrylic. The final step was stamping the black spiders on the acrylic piece and the middle of the flower.

I love creating interactive projects! So the message can be written on the cardstock, all you have to do is move the acrylic piece up or down, write your message, and then move it back into place!!

Hello everybody!! Vicki here! This month we are in an attempt to celebrate "obscure" or even some not so obscure holidays!

So Christopher Columbus discovered America! I discovered ORGANIZATION...or rather, my lack thereof! So I created this project:

(I apologize for the photo - I will just say that acrylic is not easy to photograph....)

I used the coversets for the Big Boy albums to make each person their own "space". Each person can leave their own message for whomever, simply by writing on that person's board!

The artwork at each end is done digitally and I have each one saved....here is a copy of mine so you can see it:

Now this one was created at a size of 11 x 4.25 - half a sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper. You could just as easily use regular scrapbook paper and your die cutting machine to create and obviously embellish anyway you want.

Believe it or not - my nameplates are only held on with regular scotch tape! I did this so that I could easily change them. This one is relatively generic, but you can change at holidays or seasons, because they will change out that easy. My other thought was to just die cut letters and adhere them permanently straight onto the acrylic coversets! I also intend to ribbon the rings in between each board, however, I was not planning ahead (BAD VICKI!!) so it wasn't all color coordinated! It will be next time...maybe in December I can show you my Christmas version!

Happy Thanksgiving From Canada

We are celebrating thanksgiving in Canada this weekend and so I decided to make a Thanksgiving Card. I used the MOSD scallop chipboards. Before pasting my PP to the chipboard I used an x-acto knife and lightly cut a line so I could fold my card. I then decorated my chipboard with PP and ribbon and alpha mini's. I used adhesive to bound the front and back of the card.
